Never been fired. Got demoted from area supervisor to store manager yesterday. My travel schedule was hectic so I asked to be demoted. I've fired quite a few people. Normally, I kept it short and sweet. "We talked about this before, you still kept doing it your way. Unfortunately, we will have to part ways and terminate you effective immediately." That was it.

I wish I could have said that. yes it happened to me the firs time in my life. the less said the better. boss was cool though she gave me a letter of resignation so it look like I resigned instead of being let go.

Tried to get fired once, ended up with a promotion and then continued to try and get fired again which took a bit more "IDGAF" than I had originally expected, I was working OTR and was just tired of it and wanted a few weeks of unemployment while I found something a little more local, but I had a good reference from my discharging employer, found a new employer making 6 dollars more an hour with full medical.

In the end I really didn't get fired but had to file a resignation letter, so not sure it counts.

ive never voluntarily left a job (not including teenage shit like quiting taco bell) i was fired each and every single time.

most time management tries to use jedi mind tricks or play you like your stupid.

for example. i had a job where 3 disciplinary write ups in a calender year is grounds for being fired. i got written up once for being 18 minutes late. months later, the shade started because i had scheduled a week of vacation time. when the friday before my vacation came, we had to stay later then when our shift was over. im cool with overtime, but i had made plans and i had to bounce right at 4:30 (which was our ending time) so i did. of course my supervisor was cool with it, but management wasnt.

bout 2 weeks after i came back from vacation i got called into the conference room (mind you it was a day that i did actually work ot so it was like 5:15pm)

so they have the normal "connexx youre a hard worker but...." speech, then slide another write up across the table. i didnt sign it tho because there was nothing in the employee handbook that mandated overtime. this would have only been my 2nd write up so my three strikes werent up either way. after a small "debate" LOL i just said fuck it and signed it. then these crackaz slide another sheet of paper across the table for me to sign. so as im sliding the paper toward myself to see what it is, this white ass devil starts babbling about "this sheet is just to acknowledge that you received disciplinary action. as he's saying this im reading the sheet, the shit is ANOTHER WRITE UP but i guess they used excell or word to switch the font and structure of the document hoping i just wouldnt read it. i slide that shit back across the table, he slides it back, and me and the management dude got into a shouting match. after a while the cracka was like "just go connexx, just go" in his best white ass right wing conservative voice.

i snatched the 3rd unsigned write up off the table and bounced. funny thing is these devils cashed out the rest of my vacation time and included it on my final check (and we didnt have earned vacation either it was based on years of service) i think they did that because if i had taken legal action i would have won. i went for like 2 months after that working odd jobs until i found another real job. the white man is the devil

Got fired from Walmart back in the day. I got called in the office I knew was getting fired but I thought it was for the little theft ring myself and some employees had going. I just knew them niggas was gonna lock my ass up for but luckily I got fired for smoking weed on camera in the stock room. When he gave me the reason I just dapped that white dude up and left with no fucks given.

I've been laid off twice (I count getting a full severance package with 1 month pay for every year of service as laid off)... the last one in 2007 was WOAT...

June 2007 - Congratulations! You've been promoted to Sr. Director of Strat Planning and Analytics! I'm suped... the only downside is that I stop reporting to the CFO (cool dude that was in to car restos, like me) to a Russian broad that was 1 level above me (You see where this is going).

So I move my desk to the Strat Planning area and get cracking on BIG projects... coming up with Organic and Capital Infused growth models... bustin ass... the boss's boss is impressed which makes this bitch get jelly... All of the sudden ALL of my work must go thru her, no matter WHO requested it... I side eye the heffier and keep it moving... pushin out work... Everything I give her, she has issues with and asks for drafts and re-drafts... in the meantime she's taking the work to others and taking FULL credit for it in meetings that I'm uninvited from. Okay... I don't care I'm getting paid & the CFO and the VP of Finance are trying to get me back on the squad after 4 months...

THEN... October 2007

I'm working on an E-Commerce Project and send her some numbers... She reads thru my email and says, "Rosebudd, you must be an idiot, if you think..." All ears perk up in the area... I calmly say "Morena, don't address me like that"... she starts in again calling me an idiot, now loud as fuck... I ask her to join me in the conf room to discuss her issues...we go into the conf room and she starts in cursing and shit... finally I had that "NIGGA HERE NOW moment" and blew this bitch out...

HR...

The bitch runs to HR in tears saying I threatened her SMH... They interviewed EVERYONE in our immediate area and found that I DID not threaten her and in fact I had a hostile work environment under her... 6 weeks pass...

PHONE - FROM HR...

"Rosebudd, do you have a moment? I've got some things I need to review with you regarding the 2009 growth plan in the conf room"...

I stroll in and the Head of HR and the CEO (both Black Women) are there to 'Let me go'...

"ummm why? Is the b/c of the argument with Morena?"

"No.. It's just not working out"

"Ummm I just received a 5/5 on my annual review and was promoted... explain 'NOT WORKING OUT'"

"I can't explain, let's review your severance package"

"Oh... I'm not interested in a severance package right now... please EXPLAIN NOT WORKING OUT, my sister is a labor attorney with (a huge firm in NYC) and she'll want to know the specifics when I sue"

No replies... I take the paperwork... negotiate a bigger severance package (worth about 50k) and jet... 18 months later... company flops...

this is a typical experience as a black man trying to do the right thing, then when you sell drugs and shit, its because you dont want to get a "real" job smh

I've had to fire a few people.

When I first started out in an HR role, it was for a contract cleaning service company. Pretty much the lowest rung of society was employed by this company, so turnover was quite high. Not reporting for their shift, too many call in days, failure to report criminal history... It pretty much ran the gamut of aintshitness.

In keeping it professional, many could not quite understand my words. Often times being polite became a struggle, because a lot of them were just willfully ignorant and belligerent. So, I became straight up. They knew why they were in front of me so, it was like 'You gotta go. You know why, right?' Got cursed out, threatened, a few even raised up on me... Pushed that panic button, and watched from my window as they got they ass tossed the fuck out.

they use that to mix oxy and other powder for pills. basically shit you shouldn't say to your boss if you wanna keep your job. he was telling me to finish cleaning that joint for a few hours and i took my time. after blending color powder it should take 18hrs to clean he wanted me to do it in 4. but it was that and a whole 2yrs of his shit. i wanted to dump out 14keys of oxy for a bullshit raise they gave me but they knew something was up and wouldn't let me blend control products

Got fired for the first time this year. It was my day off, about 5 a.m. I get a call on my work phone, my boss tells me to come in to the office and it was my day off. I was like ahh shit, I knew what was up because he had semi threatened to fire me the day before. No lie, they let me go because I was making too much money. He was like if you're gonna continue to work this amount of hours every week, we can't afford to pay you. I was like aite, I'll try to do better about getting off the clock asap. I was getting about 50-60 hours a week. That's alotta o.t. and on top of that I was getting fuel re-reimbursement. He tells me straight up, we gotta let you go and turn in your phone. Worked there for about a month.

I was like damn, but atleast I don't gotta get up at 5 a.m. tomorrow. Went home and went straight back to sleep. I was kinda pissed though because I quit a job that I had for about 7 years and alotta seniority and benefits. I went for about a month and a half without a job. I was getting kind of use to not working and being able to do whatever I want with no schedule restraints. Then I was getting too comfortable not working, aite better get back to work. Don't see how niggas live life with out some source of reliable in come.
