Paramount Studios ...whos apart of the "Big Six"(parmount,20th century fox,warner bros,disney,columbia,universal) major movie distributors that make up nearly 84% of the US market share has a divison specifically for lower budget "art house" types of films called Paramount Vantage ... these are the movies they put out which are not expected to turn a huge profit but proves benificial to these companies with the ability to as i said gain oscar buzz and keep the guise of indie roots attatched to the studio ... now ..since we have established money making isnt always the only bullet point on a studios agenda why dont you go ahead and take a look at how many of these "art house" "risky" movies are centered around blacks................... dont worry ........ill wait ...oh but they did put out hussle and fuckin flow tho as well as fade to black so i guess they know what we want!

I admittedly havent looked thru the production creds for each of the sister companies ..but i suspect the trend remains .... no black films and if there is get back to me when you find one that isnt a sterotypical "black folk" characterization ...

It still amazes me how some people are actually coming up with excuses for Hollywood clear racist tactics. I mean systematically capping off "Black" Productions and not funding or rarely showing any positive black images on film shows you their bias continues. When I guy like George Lucas can't get funding for Black Film, you know what time it is. I mean how does a Director that brought Billions of Dollars to the Box Office and he can't even get positive Black images on screen without a 22 year struggle and footing the bill from his own pocket. Yet "It's Business", LOL. No It's "Racism" and people need to stand up. "Red Tails" drops this weekends guys, support it.

The "White" Savoir is one of the most overdone gimmicks in Hollywood, they stay having Whites Save other races in Hollywood. With that said, "The Last Samurai" was a good film but it was clear the concept of White Tom Cruise being the LAST Samurai is a little outlandish, especially the final scene where everyone gets killed but him, even I laughed at that when it happen. But the movie was pretty dope.

Nice ... i started to watch this a couple days ago and didnt get a chance to finish ...I was trying to find who did this .... i believe fox did (distribution) ..but im pretty sure since it was put together by some independent cats from sweden it was already packaged and ready to go before they found someone who would release it for them in the states ..... but thats what we need more of ..and not just for blacks but for the latinos,asians mid eastern cats as well ...

And anybody saying these studios are justified in not putting out movies centered around positvie black characters because of the "earning potential" issue sounds crazy and low key coonish ...hollywood puts out "indie esque" movies all the time ...movies they know wont turn a major profit (or i should say they dont expect to turn a major profit) but will get them that so desired "oscar buzz" giving these major studios that feel of still being grounded within the art of film making ...its like a mainstream rapper doing the obligatory conscious track for an album to show their still connected to the roots ... but ultimately its just some bullshit ...these movie studios dont want to put out certain images of black people on the whole that display us in roles more than secondary or subservient in fear of upsetting the masses loosing fanbase etc etc ...all that other bullshit is for the birds

Well sadly "Red Tails" didn't break the box office but it did make close to 50 Million making it one of the highest grossing "War" films ever. Sadly though Hollywood will continue to be racist and tell George they were right since "Red Tails" didn't do better. The movie was pretty good beside the lame side love story, outside of that the action and flying scene's were dope. The acting was so/so, Terrence and Cuba were over acting like crazy. But I did enjoy the movie. I think it will do pretty well on DVD and you know BET will be playing it like they do "Notorious", lol.
