George Lopez has had the same routine for madd long. Shit got old quick. From what I remember from that part of his joke he goes in on how his first love was a Black girl and his mom hated it. So in her old age he only gets her dark skin Black Nurses. The next one being darker than the last one so she learns her lesson.

That's exactly how the joke goes...along with his abuela asking why is his gf so dark. Easily his most overused joke of his career

Do you watch much stand-up? Just curious because lots of comedians go at people in the audience. Some of them (DL for example) basically build careers off it. He was also clearly pandering to the crowd. If he had said that to her and there were crickets, he probably would have moved on. However, since everyone thought it was funny as hell, he kept going with it.

I've been to Mexico quite a few times. The further south I go, the darker they get but even in Mexico City they run the full spectrum from "You sure you ain't white?" to "You dark as a Nigerian". If you're basing your definition of what a Mexican looks like by what Telemundo and Univision shows then I understand; Mexican media is extremely biased when it comes to skin color.
