I don't feel this is a black or white thing either, because lots of rock cats have acknowledge hiphop (Paul Mccartey, Bob Dylan, Sublime, 311,etc). They stopped it because they had already succeeded into making HipHop as the mainstream public knows it into a component of Pop Music(Primarily the style of rapping) now they no longer feel they need to recognise it separately and can just keep it part or Pop Culture...

Even though crackers stole Rock N Role, i agree that non Rock groups should not be added. They should just call it the Music Hall of Fame. His comment that they don't play a guitar is silly because at that point you should Include The Roots. Still, that's not Rock N Roll. Also, sampling is taking different sounds and reinterpreting them. Nothing wrong with that as long as the OG artist are giving credit for their contribution. Regardless, it's a different song rather then a cover even if the entire beat is used. R&B groups and some crackers back in the day remade songs or used the beats of other songs so do they get less credit for doing it their way?
