Gotham is a purgatory that Jim Gordon is stuck in because deep down inside he feel he let Gotham down. Somewhere along the line he feels he should have done more as cop for the city, but because he wasn't effective enough the city still needed Batman. He still views Batman as that kid Bruce Wayne who he failed to give closure on his parents murder. And he sees Batman's greatest villains as people that he could have stopped a long time ago, but because of his repeated failures, they were allowed to grow stronger, more powerful , and deadlier. Batman is the man Jim Gordon could never be, and it never sat well with him. This entire universe is the tormented psyche of Jim Gordon trying to accept that he did everything he could have, and assurance that Batman is not a reflection of his inadequacy.

this show is a lot better than people have given it credit for.
Once you accept that comics have infinite earths as a loop hole to change any origin they damn well please, this is a fairly entertaining show. last night was good as hell....
At first i hated the penguin angle with riddler, but it's won me over as a deep psychological battle between two villains as to who's the worse villain,....

Barbara not shooting Ed isn't realistic for her character, she always pulling guns on people, but hasn't bust them yet this season......

batman gotta real christ like story......yea we all know about his parents dying, but i gotta say this re-telling of his adolescent going into teen years is fucking awesome for real...
watching him grow and mature.. he was so bratty and annoying season 1, season 2 he started wisening up, season 3 he already in trill mode....his only weakness now is selina... and according to batman mythos...that's accurate as fuck...
i might over rate this show, but it's been really good as an overall story if u been watching from the jump

Love how a lot of the stuff have had a hand in influencing Bruce to become Batman. How Jerome may have been the one to birth Joker. Seeing the rise of the villains like Penguin and Nigma and their orgin.
I mean I wasn't up on the Batman vs The Court of Owls saga. I just assumed it was just another group Batman just dealt wit. But this show is really showin how big of a threat they've been.
