how would yall rate gotham on a scale from 1-10 ?

Prolly a 7, I think its funny that they introduced the Joker and his story and character is more developed in one episode the Riddlers all season

Than Pre-New 52's Joker ever had. Seriously, they fixed the one element I've always hated about the Joker in one episode. I HATED that "Parts Unknown" cliche shit the comic ran with so every writer could "spin" him differently. At least now we have some kind of foundation for how he'll know what he comes to know or at least how he gets the headstart to his criminal education ('cause carnies are bout that crime life).

As of right now DC shitting on Marvel as far as live action television with Gotham, Flash, Arrow

Agents of Shield ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

That might change when Marvel's Netflix shit kicks off tho

How do we know for certain that kid is the joker? Aren't they introducing the original Red Hood next week? I think they are just giving us hints at who could be the joker.

So there was a red hood before the first Robin?

Jason Todd the robin that was killed by the joker took that identity when he was reseurected. That was the identity the joker used before he was the joker

Probably, then who is the Red Hood?

Gotham is it's own universe so Joker can't be the red hood like the original story and even Joker showing up early is a testament to this new universe.

Monday, Gotham promised to begin telling the story of the Joker. The episode focused on Jerome, a carny who murdered his mother. Jerome looks like this.

Untitled-4

This is a red herring. His hair is literally red.

If you happened to watch the first few episodes of Gotham, you’d know that we’ve likely already met the true Joker, but that’s neither here nor there. The person we met on Monday night was Cameron Monaghan doing an amazing Joker impression and Gotham continued doing the one thing it does masterfully.

String the audience along.

Gotham isn’t a show that has any intention of capitalizing on a greater audience. Blind viewership exists for comic book media in the form of comic book fans. There are scores of people willing to cede any semblance of coherent storytelling in exchange for caricatures of their favorite heroes and villains. This is what Gotham does and this is what Gotham will continue to do until enough sensibilities are offended.

The depressing fact is that the Joker has an origin story and it’s incredible and Gotham didn’t need to muddle it.

Wait what? Soo are they saying Jerome isn't Joker and he was the comedian that performed for Fish Mooney in the beginning of the series or someone else?

Sounds like a bitter comic book fan wrote that.

"He's not the Clown Prince of Chaos! This sucks! It wasn't the real Joker anyway!"

Um... when did we have time to meet the real Joker if not Jerome? Butch? The audience has been "strung along" because that's what storytelling is all about: stringing your audience along successfully until a hopefully amicable point of resolution. Furthermore, what caricature has there been? Penguin hasn't cawed once like Burgess Meredith. He doesn't have a flock of birds. Riddler is a hyperactive nerd. Joker is a guy who murdered his mom. Aaaaaand not to point out the obvious but comic books as a medium are decades of caricature. So he's essentially arguing that caricature of caricature is bad.

I hate-hate-hate when trolls are given influential jobs.
