It did 8 million viewers. Really good numbers. Some might say below expectations, but Monday is crazy right now. Gotham is up against the #1 sitcom (Big Bang Theory), the #1 and #2 reality shows (The Voice and Dancing with the Stars) and Monday Night Football.

Hopefully the ratings hold up.

SleepyHollow being after it was a good move it'll help people stay on the channel. I really hope it does well because this show has huge potential.

The reference was the comedian. There is supposed to be a joker reference every episode to keep fans guessing who it is. In one of joker's many clues to his origin, some say he was a failed comedian working for the mob. There has never been a definite origin for joker though.

Just watched the first episode yesterday. I liked it a lot. Its real cool to get to see all these characters before Batman is a thing.

Penguin is a sick fucker. Interested to see what they do with his character. Falcone is a bad ass.

Ones i know of are he was a failed comedian for the mob and they killed his wife or something and made him crazy. Those might be 2 different stories though.

Another is that he was a criminal called the red hood (just had a red cover on his head) and fell into a vat of acid or chemicals and it made him crazy and bleached his skin.
