MK has never been bigger than sf ever as nobody outside of the U.S plays MK.

EVO is not the deciding factor on video game popularity. EVO is a niche (video games) within a niche (fighting games) within a niche (fighting game, video game tournaments). About 150,000 people are watching EVO at its PEAK...and that number is less than pennies when compared to something like League of Legends tournaments... or hell, just Minecraft on any given day.

And with that said, SF always has the most signups, its Street Fighter and EVO is a fighting game tournament...but interestingly enough...I guarantee you it will not be the most watched game at EVO. Or second most watched. Or third. Maybe not even fourth? Those distinctions will go to the 2 Smash games, Marvel...and possibly Mortal Kombat X....

People change the channel when Street Fighter starts to be played...just the facts
