I just like the music he was putting out better before. I want growth in artists. Look at Nas he has showed alot of it in his career. I like kanyes last album but i dont get the same feeling his older ones gave me.

Yeah, its not like he's turn completely wack but he's different than before. If his old style wasn't broke why did he try to fix it? Maybe his mom dying had some shit to do with it so I tend to give him a pass

Artists don't become legendary by remaining stagnant.

His first two singles featured Dwele and Pusha T. How is the music more white-washed? (horrendous word by the way)

His lyrics are better now than they have ever been.

The beats are better also

How is he selling himself short? Show me a song where he wasn't spittng

I don't think his beats are better than the shit he was doin from the first blueprint on back....and he went from sounding soulful to fuckin niggas in Paris and all of the lights. Hey its all good man you got your opinions, I got mine, music is subjective

Yeah but you can Tweek stuff here and there and keep the same shit that worked for you. You don't have to go 0 to 60 and allienate a fan base with drastic changes in style and flow

I'm not necessarily saying that's what Ye did but alotta artist do that and wonder why they original fans turned on them.

Late Registration and CD are better to me. Graduation is great and had its moments. I think his last album is his third best.

Nah he didn't, Kanye was spitting some real shit on his last album. But, as always, the cool thing to do is to hate when an artist reaches a certain level.

How can people say he's digressing? He's transcending hip hop right now. There has never been an artist like him

Edit: And before any clowns say I'm dick riding, I'm calling how I see it.

"Niggas want my old shit, buy my old album"

Yes he is degressing...it's a good thing you said "transcending" because if I wanted to have sooooo much notoriety to "reach a certain level" I would sell out too...like I said before.

so your argument is the rate at which he started to change his sound?

Honestly if you think he "sold out" then you are hating. Period. People are entitled to their opinions but that shit doesn't make the least bit of sense. Least "pop" sounding album he's ever made.

He's making music that's bigger than hip hop, blending styles from all sorts of places and making the shit hot

Growth = last album is better than previous (eg Recession>> TM102)

Graduation, LR, 808s >> MBDTF

MBDTF was overproduced, oversaturated, overrated

No I'm not hating, but you're full of shit and can't refute the truth. Until you refute this:

Your arguments are null and void.

College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation Kanye>>>>>808 and Heartbreaks, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch The Throne Kanye.

My argument for Ye in particular is he went from wanting to do joints wit Common and Rhymefest to wanting to work with Taylor Swift

My argument for the general part of the question is often artist change the way they do things and obviously the fans that they had before liked something about they style back then and wonder why they had to do a 180 with it and hide behind the growth excuse. 50 cent, Snoop, Jay Z Eminiem and some of those guys all had to expand their fan bases and fall off in the process.

so sampling Otis Redding, Nina Simone, James Brown, Quincy Jones makes u whitewashed? lol ok

His transcendence to change his sounds to appease the White audience makes him whitewashed..
