You still haven't answered my question. Name a song on MBDTF other than Runaway that Kanye wasn't spitting. Name a beat that was wack.

His lyrics are much better now than they have ever been. On Kanye's first album, he made a song called "Workout," and he's selling out now?? His last album sounds less "mainstream" than anything he has ever released. It's cool when he was making songs with Jamie Foxx and Coldplay, but now he's selling out? Who's really full of shit here...

I always skipped that "Workout" song...probably the most skippable song on that first album, imo..and we're not talking about his lyrics, which in truth has gotten better but still is second place over his production..and I never said anything about those songs with Jamie Foxx and Coldplay (with were aimed for the ladies and White alternative rock crowds, which basically are attempts to crossover.)

Yeah, he's become more polished. Lol at you avoiding the question. All of Kanye albums except 808s have been great/classic in some cases

I never denied that...and I wasn't avoiding the question...but since you asked..

White people like Kanye then, but it wasn't to the point he had to go to them, they came to HIM. But after the Taylor incident, like dizzmatic mentioned had stopped fucking with him.

I think he had more hunger on the last album, dude's back was against the wall after that Taylor Swift bullshit and mainstream America was shitting on him heavy. I think it comes across in the music, especially on songs like "Power" and "Gorgeous." he sounds like he's on some fuck the world shit.

But Late Registration is my favorite album besides the last one, both are classics in my book. But like Jay said, "niggas don't be mad, cause it's all about progression" and Nas said, "But it's always forward I'm moving, never backwards stupid here's another classic"

I get that whole concept that nas and jay are speaking on. I don't always think it is for the best. Maybe I am nitpicking. His last album is still really good. I never meant to say it was garbage. I just think he set a high standard with his music.

I've been a Ye fan since the Go Gettas days, I think what people really fail to realize is that Kanye is an artist in every since of the word, when you think of each of his albums, they all have a different feel to them, he dresses differently during each album period, & even his musical layers are different..& it's all based on what's going on in his personal life, IMO, all his albums are dope & very NON-comparable. When you think of the stages of an artist, such as Basquiat, Rothko, Warhol, you see them in constant states of re-invention, not in a sense of finding themselves, but a steady pace of revision & progression based on their personal lives, same thing Kanye does with his music. I personally think, knowing that Kanye is an artist (as in he really can draw, sketch, & paint) that he does this subconsciously, it's just things about an artist you can't expect, & remaining stagnant is one of them, in art, progression is crucial.

He is a hiphop artist dont get it twisted and until he got e hollywood stories on his tv and went to europe to dick ride their culture, he only ever did soul samples.

now his daft punk, but but basically he thinks hiphop is wack so he wants to be a rock star.

miss me with that 'transcends hiphop' he is an 'artist' ............... so is Pac and Nas, Kanye is a dick rider to a european art house techno fashion movement.

He gets more fame and media coverage doing that shit, than jjust being a Rapper or Producer.

Kanye might be the greatest ARTIST in hip hop history. Not top 30 as a rapper, but on a musical level, dude is not to be fucked with

the joy is soulful...and imo one of the greatest verses(1st 1) kanye has ever spit...on power he kills it, gorgeous he destroys shit, dark fantasy too...i think his lyrics are better, but the flow from back in the day is missed a little bit...but still..he is better musically, no doubt

How many times ya'll niggas want artist to try and replicate their early albums before you same niggas start bitching about how they make the same shit. The reason why rappers fall off is they don't switch up their shit.

Like i've said before the only reason why people keep complaining about artist changing is because they have memories that's tied to when they first heard a artist and ya'll want the artist to replicate the same feeling from back then.

Ask yourself this question, are you the same person or int he same position that you were 7 years ago when College Dropout dropped? More than likely not, then multiply your circumstances now times millions of dollars, traveling the world, seeing everything, etc and i guarantee you would see where dudes like Kanye come from in talking about new shit. Nothing wrong with growing and rapping about true life experiences.

He's a producer more than a rapper so I would say its natural for Ye to experiment with different sounds. I wouldnt call his new style whitewashed its just more eclectic.

What I dont like about Kanye after CD is how he turned into a money, hoes, and clothes rapper. You can hear in his albums how much success has gone to his head. Kanye on CD and on WTT are 2 completely different rappers.

Maybe because he started making money, the hoes started coming, etc. I mean people complain about rappers being fake, but have a problem when their music actually reflect their lifestyle that they live.

It seems to me a lot of the criticism stems from fans jealously imo (not you), it's like niggas have a problem with people having success and rapping about what they truly live. Kanye is far removed from that dude who was saving up money to buy Pelle Pelle and moving to NY.

I can't relate to a nigga that spends more time in the mirror then his bitch.
Everything about this new kanye is what hr was against when he first started.
Then the money changed him, which caused his subject matter to change.

I can't relate to a nigga that acts like a Damn diva.

Outrageous post, Kanye has always been on that fashion shit...he's always been on that "diva" shit

His subject matter hasn't changed too much from his old albums

c/s an album is like a canvas... making the same album over and over is like painting the same painting over and over... after the 1st time no matter how much u im-proved on the prior painting... the interest level will decline since u already painted that album ..

that's why most rappers fall off not only rappers but artists from a variety of music genre fall the fuck off... DMX,LUDA,KISS, etc.etc.

i think most artists get sucked in 2 the machine, and are afraid to change because they fill if they do then their fan base will turn on them ,as u see in this thread...

but i doubt Ye gives a fuck about fans, as u can see on how he constantly changes, musically and as a person as well

also Tupac is an artist , that comes 2 mind as a rapper who reinvent himself from album 2 album, all his albums's have different sound, different feel . different images as well...
