IMO that kid did that shit cause he was mad at his father for some reason. Had nothing to do with trying to be a good lil citizen.

Since the kid is 11 don't think in his mind he realized that what he did would lead to his father being gone for some years.

I would be very interested in a few follow up stories on this. One in a couple of years once the son is into his teens and knows a lil more about the ways of the world and how some view snitching. Another one when the father comes home.
