U like MMLP better than Relapse production? I mean I'd prolly put MMLP 2nd tho

Here's my thing about Relapse. I actually place it 2nd production wise, tied with TES, for the same reason. The sound is big, on some stadium shit. The mixes are crazy, Dre and Em respectively put their foot in them joints. However, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing... but the beats can be over the top sometimes, especially 3AM and Crack A Bottle. And while Em has that voice that can match any beat, I can't say the same for anyone else that would be featured. 50 Cent barely fit in on Crack A Bottle, and that's only cuz we seen that trio in action before. Again, it doesn't hinder it, but those little things put Relapse a notch below for me.

Now, MMLP was grimey, with that same clarity in the mix. It was his most hip hop sounding album. None of the poppy corniness of his present albums. Even with Stan... a producer today would've amplified the pop sound of the Dido sample and added double time 808 drums to it. But those Get Out My Life Woman drums (I think that's them) and the deep bass gave it that dark feel that pushed the story to another realm. Then look at Remember Me... RBX and Sticky fit right in with the grimey feel of that track. It didn't feel like Eminem featuring a bunch of mufuckas... they all blended in well. And Marshall Mathers might be the best beat he's ever rapped over... but that's me though. I dunno man, I like grimey shit, and MMLP just does it for me.

I see what u saying. It definitely "fits" Em's style a lot more but I'm talkin strictly production. That Bass Brothers lawsuit shit wasn't a good look for either of them. If I'm not mistaken Em only did 2 beats on Relapse and Dre did the rest and u can tell big time. I can't believe u just put it on the same level as TES show where Em did all but 2 beats tho lol

The best beasts on TES were White America,Cleaning out my closet,Without Me and superman the rest was meh... Shit id say Encores production was better than TES, he was just playing to much on that album b/c his last two LPs were more on the serious side

Love the album especially Headlights, Stronger Than I Was, Beautiful Pain, Legacy, The Monster, Bad Guy. Was very impressed by how deep this album is, didn't expect it to be as deep. Already 1 of my fave albums by him. These songs are the best on the album. This album reminded me more The Eminem Show then MMLP 1 which is fine by me as that's what i like from him.

Headlights

Stronger Than I Was

Beautiful Pain

Legacy

Baby

top 5 songs on there

I didn't know about that... doesn't really change my opinion though. All that aside, TES was crazy on the production. A lot of people missed the point of the concept that it was a "show", and I think they did a good job of pulling that off. White America, Square Dance, Sing For The Moment and Til I Collapse sounds like some shit at a rock concert. In terms of ranking Em albums strictly on production, I don't see another album coming close except Relapse and MMLP.

This shit is wack smh and I listen to it with a clear mind cause a friend of mine copped it. Smh

If u listening to Em for the same reasons u listen to Biggie, Nas etc u will be disapointed Em is about the whole package he rap's well but has really catchy hooks, he does the singing thing on hooks, he's either really emotional on a song or funny. If these elements of what he does the singing, the personal content, the catchy hooks are not for u it's better to listen to other rappers.

The I.C. is not a real reflection of the real world because on twitter, facebook people have mentioned songs like Headlights being the best these songs got the most praise. Yet on the I.C. it's the opposite.

When he dropped recovery, he had that psycho, murdering shit back and people weren't happy. Then he went for straight lyricism on Recovery and people still weren't happy. Then Hell The Sequel saw him dropping punch lines and word play for fun, yet people STILL weren't feeling it. So to me, this album was him trying to please everyone. You want concept songs, it's got it. You want stories, it's got it, sick shit, slow songs, heartfelt, going harder than anyone else has gone in YEARS, check check and check. Yet there's still hate. Hopefully this will make him realise that aside from going back on drugs and re-recording the same songs from 1998-2002, he's never gonna be able to please everyone again, so he can stop trying. On the other hand, it could result in him blowing his brains out screaming "WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?" Because despite his well documented admissions that he doesn't even know how to turn a computer on let alone use the Internet, he must know what a lot of hip hop heads are saying about this album, and it must make him scratch the old blonde mop that's back on top.

It's because people listen to him for different reasons but he knows wat his core fans like. Which is everything that defines his style which is personal content, singing on hooks, lotta emotion, charisma, just records his fans relate to. But there's casual fans he will try to please as well by giving them songs that are just about spitting rather then him as an overall artist. The casual fans complain alot but should be happy they get wat they do.

There was songs on MMLP2 like Stronger Than I Was, Headlights, Beautiful Pain, Legacy, Bad Guy, So Much Better etc for his core fan base.

Then he threw in Rap God for the more casual fans who care more about Flow then content/depth/emotion and overall song writting then he threw that Don't Front song as a bonus. He doesn't have to sacrifice content, emotion, overall artistry just for Flow like he did on these 2 songs. He could just make songs for his fans but he gives y'll something so be happy and not complain.

Its the production.

Em went from making fun of Pop and the mainstream to becoming Pop. He can rap his ass off, and he does on MMLP2, but hearing him on these synthy bullshit beats is killing him. and getting these Skylar Grey type bitches to do his hook is wack too.

I dunno man im done with the dudes music. I was a huge fan for Infinite-The Eminem Show, but im offended at everything since then. (Bad Meets Evil had some Gems on there)

I cant disagree with you there bruh. the beats and singy songy hooks been killin it for me. I just try to look for the positive in it. but Im def there with you on that tho. people just defend the bullshit by sayin the beats from then sound "dated" and that the sound is "updated". I hate that argument. a good beat is a good beat.

He always had singing on hooks though he sung the hook on almost every song on The Eminem Show which came out 11 years ago. He even was singing on some hooks on the first MMLP and even on a song on The SSLP. but mostly on The Eminem Show and since then he has done it on most songs on every album. It's his style

Dude even has 2 songs that aren't Rap songs and 1 of them came out in 2002 was just a singing song. So why be surprised about something he done from day 1?

Even with the history of it and u still dislike it. U have to me more realistic he is gonna give his fans wat they like it's wat has got him the success he has 100 million records sold

Stronger Than I Was was wack as fuck, and this is coming from someone who liked Hailie's Song, Puke and Beautiful. Son been hanging around Drake too long.

Famous and realist words 'the I.C. is not a accurate reflection of the real world'

Can post twitter links to prove how it's like 2 parrallel words in terms of opinion and thoughts but i'm sure it would get over looked as some like to not accept their opinion is not generally reality

Just saying lol

With all due respect, those fans look like the type of people that would kidnap their favorite rapper, tie them up in the trunk of a car and drive it off a bridge cuz he drove their brother to suicide by not answering his letters.

The same way people would stereotype u as looking like some rapist i'm sure u wouldn't like this steoetype so simply don't sterotype others on how they look. Sometimes u have to accept people have a different taste in music to u what is great and a flawless song to others may not be to u as in this case

My homie said something funny only virgins or dudes that get no sex have a tendancy to hate on songs that generally loved by most the public and especially by females but generally popular with everyone. I laughed but there is some truth in this statement for sure
