Those FF7 videos really are sad. All 3 overweight. One sitting alone, in a dark room, the other also alone in what looks like a halfway house or some other kind of shitty surroundings...while wearing $150 headphones. The third clearly on some divorced dad, I only see my kids one weekend out of the month shit. Pushing them out the way so he can scream about a video game to a somehow even more pathetic grown man.

Reacting like that is obviously not about the game itself...for a couple reasons. Its just the hope of something, anything to look forward to in life. A return to something that once made them happy 20 years ago when life still had promise.

What's so great about FF7 that so many people want a remake? Is it nostalgia? I'm assuming it was most people's first RPG or something. I played it late and was already familiar with the story so I didn't see anything special about it. Played it after Crisis Core and I thought Crisis Core was better.

You basically hit the nail on the head.

It's one of my favorite RPGs so I'd like to see a remake of it, but I don't think it was necessary. I would have much rather seen FF6 or Chrono Trigger remade.

I don't see why it took so long they would've made more money doing this year's ago, 678 even 9 would've been dope. But if 7 is gonna look like 15 then cool. But we not getting that shit for another 10yrs

I have played every Final Fantasy ever, even god awful 13 even though I could never bring myself to beat it, but FF7 was an amazing game bruh, even though I prefer 8, 9, and 10 over it I will never forget the first time I watched Cloud jump out the train to put in work bruh.

For those thinking the remake is cut and dry, I read an article that says they are completely rebuilding the game from the ground up. New combat system, expanded story, and new content that was cut from the game originally and was not possible to put into the game at the time. We are literally going to get what FF7 was DREAMED of being but not possible at the time. I am genuinely excited.
