Nowadays

I just had an argument with a 23 year-old co-worker that proceeded to tell me how Drake is making boss moves by not responding to niggas not on his level commercially.

Fuck is wrong with you 90s babies?

Niggas are scared to take a Lost nowadays deep down Drake knows he is not destroying Kendrick if it goes on wax. That's why he going to do his subliminals and keep it moving.

Just heard this guy on the radio. Dude is actually about to cry because kendrick said wassup to him after the verse and he's questioning if kendrick "really feels how he does".

Common was right, drake got the mentality of a 16 year old bitch

@BlackGerald my nigga, please tell me this is not true and that your just over exaggerating

Aight he wasn't about to cry but go watch his interview with Angie Martinez. Whining like a bitch

I wonder if Native Tongues sat around thinking like "I gotta be the best" or "if Phife was trying to one-up QTip" or if they did their shit cause people liked it.

I don't completely agree that rap is just competitive and anyone can get it.

Why can't everybody live?

EXACTLY!!! If everybody got their own lane and excels in it there is no need.. it takes away from the actual music. I dont really draw any value off of niggas bumping egos.... I can see and hear that shit in the hood for free

The bold isn't entirely true. You do get to a point where you're above certain shit. Whether's it's because of your tax bracket or simple maturity you get to a point where the shit that may have gotten you to respond before doesn't draw the same reaction. That's just in general though not specific to rappers nowadays

true with a but hip-hop is as much sport as it is art and some people play for fun and expression while others play for competition and recognition, that said you can tell who is in it to vibe and who is in it to brag thus each should be handled and addressed based on how they position themselves. Drake is in it to brag thus competition and is open game he is not in that lane so to speak of the simple artistic expression as the others being referenced tend to fall in...
