In certain parts of Suriname, Akan related languages are still spoken and the culture is still practised. Anthropologists from all over the world visit Suriname to study these people. Haitians largely came from the region that is now called Benin.

Just to make it clear I see AA's as my brothers and I have been influenced by them alot. If you'd visit my island or the other Dutch Antillian islands you'd see how Americanized especially the younger generations are. Baseball is the most popular sport, need I say more?

I was schooling that brother that made some offpoint remarks about the Caribbean. While we're brothers and should work together, let's not act like we're some monolyth. Italians and English are both white and will get on one page, but they're not the same. That was my point.
