Smh @ niggas thinking they don't have accents. everyone has an accent...... if you never leave the city you were raised in you will never know you have one. i met people from everywhere like new york, boston, and atlanta, they all didnt think they had accents but they all had mad thick accents.

How come people from St Louis sound like theyre from down south sometimes

Nelly sound like he from dallas.

St. Louis, like a lot midwest cities, is city full of niggas who are ORIGINALLY from the South. I think in the case of St. Louis though, since its in closer proximity to the South than say Detroit or the Chi, the Southern ties are stronger.

well most of the time they dont know the accent.... they know you talk differently (like pronouncing words differently or just they way you talk and your mannerisms) and dont sound like them but they can't put their finger on it. Most people in cali, where i live now, know i sound differently but don't know why most likely because they never heard an accent like mine. also moving around alot makes your accent less noticeable because you need people to understand you and having a thick accent makes it hard to communicate with others.
