Man, fuck that. Just came in from seeing it.

I enjoyed the shit out of this movie. Shit was funny, had action, and had great acting. Christopher Waltz seems to be at his best when working with QT. when dude shot the sheriff in the street I was like 'shit....this dude got some shit with him.' Then fucked up the town with the whole 'I'm a bounty hunter, he's a criminal shit'.

Jamie gets a 'bad mafucka' pass for this shit here. And Samuel....nigga was funny as shit.

8.5/10 sounds about right.

In all actuality more movies like this need to be made, this is a part of history many Americans would like to forget.

On a further note, I'd like to see more black historical epics pre-slavery. some people have a hard time imagining black folk before slavery existed in America.

Just saw the movie . Can one of you Malcolm x niggas explain to me how the movie made light of slavery?

They cant.

Nah they did, y'all just disagree... No need for this to be so vitriolic sister...

I just came!

I am not trying to make this a bitter topic.

Their points were flawed based on an ill-informed opinion from Spike Lee. Plus, no one in this thread has ever heard of a Spaghetti Western until the talk of the movie started to buzz in the beginning of December.

Having a terrible rebuttal with feeling infused makes my head hurt.

Also, the Inglorious Basterds comparisons are bullshit. Complete bullshit. Because the story lines are not similar, the characters are not in the same universe( writer's terminology... Please google to understand), and Basterds was a revenge movie with multiple story lines; where DJango was a linear romantic story line.

So, like I had stated, them niggas aint really prove shit on how this movie made light of slavery.

Ol I went to college lemme show everybody ass nigga.

cs im bout to hit the pm on that note

I wasnt gonna see the movie because folks on the IC and the the internet as whole had me thinkin it was gonna be a 3 hours whip & rape fest.

me and the wife was bout to see This Is 40 but it was sold out so we ended up seeing Django.

Im glad we did.

It wasnt nearly as bad as people who never seen the movie tried to make it out to be.

It was funny damn near all the way thru and balanced white supremacy with black revenge pretty well.

All I gotta say is I be seeing it again. U know a movie good as hell when u don't get up for shit. Leo and Sam had me dying!!!! Leo had his swag going he finally might get that Oscar.

So basically people heard spike's comments, shaped their own opinions before seeing the movie, found out their assumption was wrong, but in order to save face, they have to pull shit outta their ass

Django was incredibly offensive, insensitive and outrageous......and I loved every minute. Loved the near totality of the slave experience captured. Brough up more aspects than "whipping" & "runaways." You could dig up an Aubrey Skinned House slave and he wouldnt be as much a coon as Samuel Jackson was.

"Nigger" wasnt used ENOUGH. More slaves should have been whipped. More families destroyed. More mental destruction and taught mistrust. Show everything or not at all. You're Tarantino if anyones going overboard & getting a pass for it it's you. Dont get mushy on me Quentin.
