I was in that bitch fuming bruh. Never has a film made me so upset on several different occasions. I've seen some slavery movies and not think twice about it but this shit right here? I legit left the theater mad as fuck.

I think being from Detroit added to it a lot but I was in theater like fuck everybody. Whatever the film crew set out to do they did it because the joint will make you want to riot.

5/5 most definitely an amazing film. The cinematography, acting all that was on point. It captured every type of anger, hate, resentment, sadness possible. If I never have to see a cop again it won't be soon enough.

Support the film but you will hate it lol

Yea I was dizzy at some point. I know they were going for the documentary style moving lens for obvious reasons. I also think the Director intended to make the room spin a bit and the angles to be off at times to illustrate how there was a lot that even the people there didn't see and didnt have perspective on. That had to be a crazy trial. The trial could probably be it's own film.

My granny told me about it growing up and the verdict but that's it. Other than that I've never heard about it from anyone.

It's crazy. If you ask older black people what they think about integration a lot of them weren't in favor of it at all because it destroyed businesses and communities.

Very impressive film but really not an easy watch. It is almost a horror film in someways. The Hotel Interrogation scene is the most uncomfortable thing to watch since 12 years a Slave.

If you have white girlfriend or boyfriend i might suggest preparing yourselves because feelings will be hurt.

Algee Smith as Larry , dude killed that he on his way if he keeps this. I really felt sorry for the Dramatics brotha.

Great performance by Will Poulter as Krauss that kid if gonna be a star , dude played the villian a little too well.

John Boyega was also very good

Very relevant to whats going on and very important movie for apathetic white people and cop sympathizers to watch. It is a pretty sad flick so brace yourselves.

8/10.

Shit dragged to me

By the time the
3rd cop kills the black guy at the hotel, when he was sposed to just scare him
i thought the flick was almost over. Checked my phone and seen we was only 45min into the movie.

Hated the part when the guy from the Dramatics gets away and he meets the good cop. It was obviously the movies time to show "not all cops are bad" and they laid it on way to strong... Cop sees dude and goes "OMG... Who could do such a thing to a person?!"... Like he just looked like he got beat up. Was it that cops 1st day or some shit.

Disgusted at the end when they show every last one of the real peoples faces except the cops who got theirs blurred out.

Movie coulda been alot better if it was 30mins shorter. Nothing i ever wanna watch again

This is the picture of the aquitted and they blurred out all the white faces...

It did feel long as hell. It was a few times I thought it was going to end and it didn't. A few scenes could've been cut out

Norman Lippitt makes no apologies. He made big money winning acquittals for cops accused of brutalizing blacks in Detroit. It was a paycheck.

Lippitt leans back in his corner office in downtown Birmingham. He’s discussing his most infamous case: successfully defending white cops accused of beatings and murder at the Algiers Motel as Detroit burned in the summer of 1967. The allegations were savage. The case exposed racial wounds that perhaps still haven’t healed.

Lippitt pauses. He puts his feet on his desk to reveal soft leather driving shoes that he wears without socks.

“Let me ask you a question,” he says with a smile. “What do you think of my new shoes?”...

Hollywood embellishes movies for cinematic effect thats the whole point.

The fact the you a peeved at the fact the Krauss is not a real character makes no sense or they blur out the other cops it could be quite possible the studio did not want to be sued or misrepresent the characters. They even wrote at the end of the movie that some events were created by different perspectives as to respect all the peole involved in said incident.

This movie's point is about relevance today , police brutality, protest and racism and they did make that point very well.
