DC Vs. ATL Nightlife

Is there a city where black people are doing better than the ATL?

I think DC would be better for black people that like other races...

My 2 cents:

DC is more so akin to NYC as far as culture (cosmopolitan, sense of power, diverse etc). It’s just that NYC trumps DC with sheer population. Only thing with DC is that the city can be kinda “buttoned up” because of all the government, lobbying and consulting influence.

Being in the DC area, I go up to NYC every now and then for the weekends and I can say that NYC often gets overlooked as a good spot for young males. You got a lot of ladies trying to live out a ‘Sex and the City’ type life if you catch my drift.

ATL is also really cool for young males with solid income. Lots of good looking women as well and the scene is pretty hardcore. The scene is also very, very black. But I will say this, there’s a lot of low-key tricking in ATL. Hell, I said it in another post about how my cousin put me on with Roxy Reynolds. I think the stripper culture makes tricking more acceptable down there. Hell, you got college girls out GSU, Spellman and CAU selling low-key on the side. C’est la vie.

Houston is also like ATL but not as storied. ATL has had the black music and entertainment scene for a longer period of time. Houston is still coming up. Dallas is in that same lane as well, but behind Houston.

Everywhere else i.e. Charlotte, Memphis, Chicago VA Beach region, Philly, etc are just not there yet culture wise.

DC- For permanent shop

ATL- For 1-3 years in my 20s

NYC- For weekend trips

If you want pure blackness. I think you're good in ATL. If you want a mix, DC is pretty good for that.

As far as where are black people doing the best, I think DC really. I feel ATL can be a bit embellished.

DC and ATL are best cities/metros for blacks. With NYC area third

Economically speaking of course

I think DC has the edge but I need to do my googles

When I mean pure blackness, I mean heavily black. The ATL black nightlife scene is unfiltered if that makes any sense.

ive had people from chicago tell me Atlanta is boring as a whole after relocating there

ive never anything like that about dc, ever

and its location is prime.. driving distance from all kinds of cities towns and attractions, which gives it even more invaluable points...if they wont connect the east coast wit a high speed rail, then america jus aint gettin em period, cause aint a more viable location

chicago isolated n so is atl

Thing bout DC is that it's a party night every night of the week Sunday to Sunday. Not to mention the go go scene. That's where i live

But every time i been to ATL it's been all love and i had a good time.

I'm born and raised in DC and was never a club person. If the shit didn't have go-go band or some type of live music I never liked the shit.

Went to some clubs a few months ago and seen people in the SERIOUSLY doing that "millie rock" dance when that song came on and just felt like

Man I still can't drive by where the Hot Shop used to in Marlow Heights without having a go go flashback lol. Was a legit restaurant they turned into a go go spot on the weekends...so much shit went down in that parking lot

Yea Hot Shop was the spot...it was another spot off central ave by where that all daz shop that used rock too

As I got older I used to be all about Wednesday night at the trade winds for BYB and there was a spot out Laurel that used to rock on Saturday nights with familiar faces....but niggas wasn't bout riding all the way out Laurel from SE.

I can pretty much tell my life story from all the go go spots

but my nigga D. morgan you never made it to DC Live? Nigga that college night was something special joe...just so many bitches you had to take 45 minutes just to narrow it down to a top 5 you wanted to get at every time you came

Shit that just reminded me of when Jordan opened 1223. Wall to wall bitches

Or how bout when Love 1st opened. My god i was fucking hoes from cali, Detriot or where ever. Hoes were traveling here just to party. I cried when that shit died off. One night they had LL cool J inside and Beyonce on a stage outside performing. I swear I seen at least 500 dimes that night.
