Colin Kaepernick refuses “to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people”...

It seems clear to me that given Jones heavy-handed tactics, all the black Cowboy players have to take a knee during the anthem of the next game. If they are all told that they can't play, Dallas won't be able field a team. If the game doesn't go on, they should all still try to get paid, and they should go to court if they have to. After all, they were ready, willing and able to play.

This remind me of the times when my siblings & I were young & our parents used to snatch us up in public, if we was acting bad. Jerry Jones is treating grown ass men like kids. Publicly belittled them in the media.

This should be what happens. But I think we all know it won’t.

NAACP: Cowboys owner violating players' rights

The NAACP on Tuesday condemned Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones's decision not to allow his team's players from taking the field if they kneel in protest during the national anthem.

"Jerry Jones’ comments are more than tone-deaf, more than misinformed and misguided — they are a public commitment by an NFL owner to violate his players’ Constitutional right to free speech," Tony Covington, a former NFL safety and the NAACP's senior director of corporate affairs, said in the group's statement.

“This is not an issue about our flag, this is an issue about police brutality, (racism, and the ability of members of the NFL whose communities are disproportionately impacted by police misconduct to peacefully say enough,” added NAACP interim President and CEO Derrick Johnson.

Jones took a hard stance on the controversial protests on Sunday, saying that any team member who is "disrespectful to the flag" will not be allowed to play in games, and added that the National Football League should not withstand such disrespect either.

The Cowboys owner's comments echoed those of President Trump, who has called on the NFL to fire or suspend players found to be "disrespecting our Flag & Country."

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling during the national anthem before games last year, a move that many NFL teams and players emulated this year to protest racial injustice and police brutality.

“This is not simply a Black issue due to the number of white people also killed by police, but we know historically that when justice occurs for African Americans, all other members of our society benefit as well,” said Johnson.

The NAACP also said in the statement that it had asked for a meeting with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to "determine how he can best protect his players," following his statement Tuesday that “everyone should stand for the National Anthem" at NFL games, including the players.

The White House on Tuesday applauded reports that the NFL is considering changing its rules to force players to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner."

Wonder what would happen if black ppl changed the narrative like CACs do...

NFLer Schools Meghan McCain: Protests ‘Not About Disrespecting Military, Anthem’

San Francisco 49ers player Eric Reid reminded the newest View co-host Meghan McCain of the real intentions behind the “misconstrued” and hotly debated NFL protests.

When McCain implied that kneeling during the national anthem is not “good for America,” Reid told-off the former Fox News host by explaining the protests have nothing to do with “disrespecting the military or the anthem,” like many conservatives believe. Instead, Reid reminded McCain that these protests — going all the way back to when former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick started them — were always about opposing “police brutality.”

During the segment, McCain attempted to defend Vice President Mike Pence’s highly-publicized walkout by asking if she would have “oppressed” Reid by bailing on an NFL game after players kneeled for the anthem. Reid responded in mic-drop fashion, saying, “You’re not the vice president” — which drew an “ooooh!!” from the audience.

“He went to that game knowing we’re going to protest again. He went to that game knowing he was going to leave so he could misconstrue our message more…Moving forward, I think something has to be done. In regards to police brutality, I don’t think they should be able to use lethal force when a citizen is unarmed. That’s a very simple start,” Reid said.

While appearing on the ABC daytime talkshow, the 49ers safety also opened up about the racial education he wishes to inspire through these protests, specifically, he talked about using his platform as a pro-athlete to teach others about the “systemic oppression of black and brown people.” Additionally, he continued to call out Pence for walking out of the Colts game on Sunday — which Reid has referred to as a planned “PR stunt.”

As for the original protester, unsigned quarterback Kaepernick, Reid said that the league “has turned their back on him,” explaining that front-offices and coaches see his situation as “a PR nightmare.”
