Haha. Don Lemon looks like Tom on Boondocks. Perfect hairline and non threatening facial hair.

Plus he's gay. That's the truth.

This was really a bad idea Don Lemon!! This is why in the news buisiness, you're supposed to stay objective. He may haqve straight damaged his credibility with this one. All this so called "tough love" but what's really being done about it? Don Lemon is a fucking asshole in the real world and barely talks to people who just want to meet him. I agree sagging your pants is stupid and it makes you look like a fucking idiot. All this is is another black man who "made it" talking down to poorer black folks. We talk in circles and have been doing that for years but nothing is getting done. White people are out here fucking up too, but I don't see O'Reilly telling them to put the meth down and finish school and shit. Like the lady at the end of that Don Lemon clip said, seems like the only time white people want to talk about it is when they want to stick it to us. I still get profiled and I don't sag my pants, I finished school, and I have a decent job. I still remember having this female cop feeling on my pants talking about some people were concerned that you might have a gun when all I had was a cellphone and shit. I was dressed just like half the white boys in that club too...polo shirt, jeans and a hat. That's the last time I went to that club

Well, he is a conservative so what do you expect them to do? They are conserving traditions, beliefs, ideology, thought process and etc. They are molding people into what they desire people to do. Marriage is a political and economic move, child birthing is only now due to economics and capitalism. It's just another you niggas ain't shit. I don't sag, but it's a cultural clothing thing. You can sag, wear a toga, kimono, dashinki, african robes, suits, shorts, whatever, it doesn't speak about a person morals or ethics.

The original gangsters wore nice clothes, mafias wore nice clothes, presidents, generals wore nice clothes, adolf hitler wore nice clothes and etc. It doesn't say whats inside a person.

Pathetic smh

These high profile black folks are just sad. For instance I already knew that Charles Barkley was on sum other shit but when I heard him defend Zimmerman I just became disgusted with his nipple headed ass

Shout out to Khalid Muhammad

When white folks can't defeat you they'll always find some Negro—some boot-licking, butt-licking, buck-dancing, bamboozled, half-baked, half-fried, sissified, punkified, pasteurized, homogenized nigger—that they can trot out in front of you.

Shit is still true

I agree with his views on personal responsibility( i.e not having kids when you can´t take care of them and getting a degree), but like someone twitted above, that´s not going to make racism magically disappear. The war on drugs was a war on poor black folks and it should be blamed for ruining the black family.

hmm on the fence with this... there's two sides to everything at least two sides. I can't really blame or endorse either way. It's all based on your experience.

The line of thinking displayed in the video below needs to be eradicated; the cycle it creates is cancerous for Black Americans. Surely she, and people who share her attitude, are the caricatures to whom those smarmy right-wing windbags are referring:

and yeah, the family structure does need to be reorientated: Multiple Baby mammas & Baby daddies Loving two-parent households with a strong father figure for young males and a virtuous mother figure for young females.

as well as the educational approach: Hustlin' STEM fields.

Perhaps Lemon's comments come from a place of genuine concern for Black Americans. LOL @ Bill "these niggers actually use silverware" O'Reilly, though.

I thought this dude really was going to say some coon shit judging by how twitter and facebook was going crazy. What did he say that was out of line or coonish?? That African Americans should take personal responsibility over their lives?? He even had counter arguments to the conservative Right. I don't get people. SMH. We as a black community have gotten comfortable playing the victim role. Hell no, getting an education, pulling up your pants, taking care of your community WILL NOT end racism, but what it will do is instill pride in ourselves collectively so that we can begin to build our own wealth as a race and not need to lean on Whites as heavily as we do. Don Lemon held a mirror to Blacks and what you're seeing is a lot of niggas with excuses catching feelings. I agree with him 100%

he always came of as level headed to me ... but agreeing with Orielly on anything that is related to Black people is a negative

you gotta love/care about someone to give "tough love"

Are you guys advocating marriage as much as you are opposed to it.

I am against the constraints that come with marriage. However, if you have a child or children, you owe it to them to be in their lives as much as possible. I grew up in a two parent household and was one of maybe 3 guys in my circle that had both parents. You could see the difference in the behavior patterns, difference in what was considered manhood, reactions to adversity, etc. A two parent household is optimal for a child to develop into the best way possible, but that is just a piece of the problem

As much as I despise the order of white supremacy I hate the fact that a lot of us can't take constructive criticism. We use our victimization a lot of times to justify the complete chaos within our communities. In actuality we aren't as powerless as we believe ourselves to be. A lot of the problems we face can easily be turned around with productivity and unity. We will never be in a position to confront true racism and injustice if we can't first confront the many social ills that plague us a people.

Come on people. Let use our heads here. Racism doesn't have to be as overt as it was in the 50's and 60's. We were a stronger people back then. In this current time we are largely a spiritually barren people with no clear structure or direction. The true racist poses as a friend and perpetuates the notion of us being defenseless victims. Because he knows that a people who look at themselves as permanent victims will never have ability to fix themselves up. I hope some of you see where I'm going with this.
