im gonna be objective on this..
my question is why is EVERYTHING blacks do wrong? by all mean I understand there is a time and a place 4 everything.. but why if im honestly being myself im "wrong" I sag my pants... will I go 2 work like that no that's unprofessional.. but if im smart enough 2 kno that.. most people are..
I do agree with him on the school thing tho ( at least high school) but what he don't tell u is a kid that graduates from a inner city high school is still a step behind a kid that graduated from the suburbs.. usually has 2 go 2 a " catch up" class if they want 2 go 2 a university.. also idk one person who thinks going 2 school is " white" most people in the hood preach 2 go 2 school and graduate high school
my thing about what he said is this... the "out of wedlock pregnancies" and single parenting is a epidemic across the board not jus blacks.. I hate the fact that there is a show that shows blacks aint the only people killing " 1st 48" doing drugs " intervention" or having kids " teen mom/ 16 and pregnant" yet these are "our" stereotypes..
its fucked up 2 start from the bottom... cuz if you in the hood u understand struggle and when u make it out u have even more scrutiny because you started from the bottom... so it becomes a catch 22 do you stay where u are comfortable n struggle? or do you strive hard 2 get out jus to be judged 4 being yoself...
I could name ten ways we are discriminated against on the daily..
our " ghetto names"
the way we dress
the way we talk
where we live
the music we listen too
the cars we drive
the way our women do their hair
the way we dance
the sports we watch
the food we eat.. and I could easily keep goin..
its like we have to PROVE with out a shadow of a doubt that we not stereotypical in order 2 get a CHANCE at being at peace... but oh boy let u comfirm ONE stereotype and u will be just another nigga..
