it all depends on the person you know most people are slow and the rest just cant afford the new technology ... i went digital 10 years ago ... i only still buy cds today only cause the current car i got wont take cd-rs and i havent setup a hook up for the ipod or cell phone yet .........

unless you got a cd changer ... having cds takes up space in the whip lol !! digital openned up many options when it comes to the car playist lol

Almost positive everybody with thousands of "songs" on their ipod or whatever have them backed up. Niggas dont think like that much less have whole albums anymore. I have all of my cds backed up on an external as well but thats not the point.

You ain't said nothing but a word. Them classifieds is where it's at my nigga, I've even been rolling through the alley and somebody throwing out they record collection and I just scoop that shit up. And re-sale shops, got dayum I've found some gems in there, pay .50 for them. I be all over the city of Chicago and in those small country towns copping shit. I don't really fuck with record conventions because they try to rape you. Libraries also have a lot of shit too that people don't know about, but fuck a record store, they overprice the shit out of you.

most people cant tell the diff unless its def a degraded mp3 file 128 kbps or less

files on itunes are "suppose" to be high quality 320kbps .....

Yeah, the good stuff is out of stock because "its' the good stuff" lol but I'll check that site too. And it's better being in the store as opposed to looking online. I've come across many cats that hip me to parties and shit while i'm out digging

I gotta a cd player and a radio that can play off a flash drive, I got the H.N.I.C on both, and the shit just bangs and just sounds deeper on the CD, through the flash drive it sounds to much like dense surround sound

I have both plus the ATT for my phone and the shit aint even close to which one sounds better. CD quality is by far much better than the other two.

I may be oldschool but I still find it fun to dig in record stores for CDs, Tapes and Vinyl.

sn with all this talk i hope you guys are seeing the future ... mpeg files take up space ... logical space ... unlike the older medium that took up physical space that you could actually feel and see ....... but this is the future of music distrobution cause now you can distribute diff quality levels ... low quality and hi quality ... the higher the quality the more space you need ... the higher the quailty the more it will co$t ... also the higher the quality the more space is needed to store the file which will also co$t you .... hard drives will need to be bigger and faster to handle people who seek hi quality audio files ..... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ... and they will need media servers to store these massive files ... more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ......

It's crazy because when I was growing up records were dead, cassettes was on they way out, but my grandma still had her a record player, and vinyls. We use to throw them shits like frisbees unaware of the value and she didn't care about the shit. So to this day I hold on to all my cds, and cassettes.

When I first meet my dad he gave me 2 big ass bags of comics, and a whole bunch of rap cassettes. I'm talking bout NWA, Wu Tang, Bone Thugs that I still got. I seen him once after that but I still got them tapes.

Enough of the sentimental shit. In terms of music, rap specifically cds are sort of dead. I look at like with all the smartphones, Ipods, mp3 players etc, and with how often a new music is released it's more convenient to just store a large amount of music on one device, rather than having several cds. New song out? Sync, and go on about my day. Shit I can d/l a song in the car. Sometimes I do like have the artwork for the collection, but if it ain't a Kanye or somebody I ain't buying it. Last album I purchased was good kid madd city.
