People don't like that Beyonce is attractive, can dance, and sing. That's why they call her overrated compared to less, non-multi talented singers. If she was less attractive and just stood there, she'd still single better than 95% of singers in the industry.

I see what he's saying. I think he's wrong in saying that Beyonce can't sing. She can and has made songs where she sang sang. However, I think what he's really getting at is that that's not really the appeal of her music. Her actually singing ability isn't really what sells her album. Her more recent work in particular is evidence of this. Some of the songs, she's even delved into that singy rappy bullshit that's popular nowadays.

I don't think Beyonce is overrated. She's every bit the entertainer that people say she is. Her music is overrated though. It's a fluff and very little substance, and none of it, that I can think of, is timeless. It doesn't have to be any of that to be good for the moment and make her a good artist. But when people act like Formation is some kinda black power anthem because like half a line expressed some pride in her black phenotypes, that's pretty much the epitome of overrating something.
