To me it's a slight to hiphop/urban music more than anything. That's why the Grammy's keep shitting on urban act. Adele only won the best album due to the fact it's a more traditional music album. Them motherfuckers don't respect hiphop music plain and simple.

It's a category they created to minimize black artist imo and shut them out of the major categories (Album of the year, Record of the year, and song of the year). Truth of the matter is Adele is making urban music, but they don't pigeonhole her to the urban categories. Let someone like Jill Scott or Jazmine Sullivan make an album like 25 and they would never leave that urban category.

Beyonce is good at yelling into the mic. That's what her "singing" amounts to.
It's like Madonna vs Cyndi Lauper or Britney Spears vs Christina Aguilera. One can sing a bit and is entertaining to watch because of their showmanship, the other can SANG and hold it down without anything else happening.
Beyonce's voice is largely atonal, there's no real range there, just loudness and runs. She could never hold a candle to a Sade, Anita Baker, Roberta Flack or the like. What she does passes for singing these days because she's got a strong promo team behind her and money to keep her records in rotation.
