not fair because adults chat in here. Biggie was great. But Cube is the imbodiment of black people. a nigga. from the hood. did he grow up poor? why does it matter if gangsta shit was his environment?

Cube taught us. Us meaning, my lil generation.65-80. if u were born inbetween those years, cube had your ear. He was the hardest rapper from 87-95. Cube taught us about the ills of dope. bitches. the police. Cube turned nation of islam, and stuck it to the system. He put out a diss song so hard, niggaz aint even want it with him no more. Snoop tried to keep it going but Dre was like nawl, let that nigga live. Eazy aint say shit. that was respect.

Biggie was just a rapper. a nigga. a street hood. he wanted to spit that slick shit, get paid, and fuck bitches while having his cake and eating it too. in retrospect, the nigga was sloopy. we should not know about all his side pieces. he was a young dude. a disciple of cube. Like Nas.

I dont like this song, but this song is this thread.

Ice Cube-Child Support

All i ask for was the better rapper, not your emotional/psychological attachment to them, but well written nevertheless.

Biggie is average. He brought nothing to game that was game changing.

He is that nigga that went into his turtle shell when Pac came at his neck.

And that's the nigga y'all wanna stand behind.

It took other NY Artist to put on for the city against the West.

It could be Biggie vs Bruse Wane and you'd pick Bruse Wane.

He's A Biggie Hater!

Lol damn thats funny

Didn't Cube have ghostwriters?? Never heard that accusation about Biggie. Biggie has the better flow, the more memorable songs, best punchlines, and never made a bad rap song.

Biggie wins this one very easily.

This post basically answers the question. Ice Cube doesn't compare to Biggie when it comes to creativity. His songs, while great, don't match the dexterity and catchiness Biggie's tracks had, Ice Cube actually sounds very basic compared to Biggie. I say this as a Cube fan.

That's the thing that really makes me sad when I think about Biggie's death. He was only getting better. I don't think he ever reached his full potential, it's crazy to imagine how good he could have been.

The poll has been done several times and I think 2pac usually wins.

I would have voted for The Notorious B.I.G. In that poll.

I wouldn't even be mad at that, I had Biggie better then Pac for a long time, till I heard Still I Rise.

I do admit Biggie may have had more potential then Pac, but only if he switched his subject matter up. Pac showed at an early age he could rap about anything, Biggie was a little limited in his subjects.

I don't know if I like the direction Puff was trying to push Big in..

Big was a hardcore lyricist,

Puff wanted him to be commercial..

I think Biggie would have resisted the moves to make him more commercial eventually. Biggie for an album or two would have been "commercial" or more of it, but off the strength of his strong ties and roots in Brooklyn, Biggie would have kept it lyrical overall. Think of who Biggie said influenced him, 2pac and Kool G Rap. If Biggie got too commercial, he would have thought about 2pac and Kool G Rap and made the move to become lyrical again.

Nah, I'd say Pac died at his peak. If you listen to his unreleased material he rhymes Hennessy with Enemy and Penitentiary. I actually think Makevelli would have been the perfect way to go out. He could have done without the posthumous albums (except for a few songs).

But yeah, I think Biggie was growing and getting better. His verses on The Benjamins and Victory are some of Hip Hop's illlest verses and they didn't even make the Life After Death album. Think over that.

When these threads ask who is the "better rapper" I literally always vote for who was a better emcee technically.

I put both these cats on the same level and category though. Both legends and both are mandatory for anyone who claims to be a hip hop head

Nah he definitely hadn't peaked in not really talking about lyrically though he I should have clarified that he was getting better as and artist and that's crazy to me being how good of a artist he already was but his subject matter was getting more deeper big was always the better lyricist though no denying that

ONE of BIG's last verses and my favorites. Biggie would rap Circles,Triangles,Rectangles, and hexagons around Ice Cube.

Nobody posted a verse yet from cube that's better than that victory verse. You niggas still living off that straight outta Compton hype. Now all of a sudden cubes the man, Foh
