Aye Real Talk, If Eminem Dropped Life Is Good, would ya'll have copped it?

Eminem couldn't even have an album with production half as good as Life Is Good has, nevermind the lyrics and songs. He would insist on producing most of the album, therefore making it wack.

Eminem is the best technical rapper out.Period

Other ppl are just as good at story telling and painting pictures but on a skill level Em's wordplay is virtually unmatched.

Recovery was a lot like Life Is Good as far as being an album after a harsh public event or events

IDGAF what niggas say.Em is one of the best and the best all agree.

Eminem can hardly drop a Life Is Good because he's still obsessed with his ex wife (re-married her a couple of years back and then divorced her again, tha fuck???)

Plus there's songs he fantasizes about killing her ('Kim' off The Marshal Mathers LP) and the abuse he hurls at her in some songs is just laughable

On the other hand, you can hear NaS reminiscing on good times on 'Bye Baby' and not being overly emotional or a sounding like a wreck

Plus I dunno if Em has laid off the pills ...

This... someone stated that Recovery was Em's Life Is Good... but he still seemed angry on that, especially on a subject as uplifting as getting off drugs. He still got shit on his mind, he's still not over Kim, he's still not confident in his own skill and status in the game, and I definitely agree that he might still be on drugs or fighting the effects of it. Unless he can truly fight off his own demons, he can never make a happy album.

Hell nah I wouldn't cop that shit.

Matta fact...Emenem doesn't have what it takes to drop an album as good as Life Is Good.

Eminem already has made a "Life is Good" album

Its called "Recovery"

Not as good, but almost touches all the same topics you speak of.

I see what you're saying, but I guess what I mean is, if the QUALITY of LIG was there, would you have copped it?

I ain't trying to start anything, I'm just curious. I was talking with a friend yesterday who heard Life Is Good and was like "Damn, this is that shit! See man, Nas is the greatest to ever do it. Can't nobody talk about serious shit like Nas."

At this point I completely agreed. But then he went off on Eminem for no reason...

"Man fuck Eminem. People be acting like he's one of the greatest, but fuck that bitch. He don't talk about shit."

Here, I started to think to myself "Yes he does, he has plenty of tracks about serious shit" but I wasn't about to start a stupid ass argument.

But that convo really got me thinking. What if Eminem had made the same album? Would we be praising it like we are? Would XXL have given it a classic rating?

I mean real talk, Em has a bunch of serious songs that are similar to some of Nas' material:

On Parenting:

Nas- Me and You, Daughters

Em- Mockingbird, When I'm Gone, Hallie's Song

On Politics:

Nas- My Country, American Way, America

Em- Mosh, We As Americans, Square Dance

On Poverty and Struggle:

Nas- One Mic, Project Windows, God Loves Us, We Will Survive

Em- Rock Bottom, 8 Mile Road, If I Had

Relationships and Marriage:

Nas- Getting Married, Bye Baby

Em- Superman, Spacebound

I'm not saying Em= Nas in anyway, but I'm just curious to see what the IC would think of Life is Good if it was Em's album, but touched on the same topics and had the same messages as Nas did.

What are y'all thoughts?

Gee, I know your stance, so I'm good on that homie, LoL...

lol but real talk fam how is u comparin a blk man wit a cracka?? smh feminem is WHITE he cant drop a life is good..

I'm not comparing a man of color to a man of less melanin, I'm comparing TWO EMCEES that are both highly regarded in the game.

The way you worded that made it sound like Em can't fuck with Soulja Boi simply because of color.

And the topic is not about COULD he drop Life Is Good, but if he DID drop Life Is Good. If Eminem was dealing with the same issues, and dropped a quality album (which will be CLASSIC status in two years I guarantee), would you have copped it.

Also Gee, if a different White MC with no strikes against him dropped a dope ass album, would you cop it or do you boycott ALL WHITE MC's in general???

If eminem isnt the GOAT lyricist then how come even the 2nd GOAT Scarface is scared to jump on a track with him? You niggas trippin EM the GOAT Scar 2 Nas 3

Maybe only 3 people so far has actually answered the question. To me, if Em would have dropped LIG it would not have had the same impact on me, so i probably would not have bought it.

^Things that crazy Em fans actually discuss on forums.........kind of creepy and fucked up at the same time that they actually would like to have song topics like this........

"That's a good idea for a concept actually. Maybe he could pick 3 people, Houston, MJ and Amy Winehouse and somehow talk about how it was all their own fault they died because he himself almost died because of drugs, therefore pissing off all 3's fanbases at the same time."

And Em needs a girlfriend. Courtney Love would be the perfect fit for him
