Other ppl are just as good at story telling and painting pictures but on a skill level Em's wordplay is virtually unmatched.

Recovery was a lot like Life Is Good as far as being an album after a harsh public event or events

Eminem can hardly drop a Life Is Good because he's still obsessed with his ex wife (re-married her a couple of years back and then divorced her again, tha fuck???)

Plus there's songs he fantasizes about killing her ('Kim' off The Marshal Mathers LP) and the abuse he hurls at her in some songs is just laughable

On the other hand, you can hear NaS reminiscing on good times on 'Bye Baby' and not being overly emotional or a sounding like a wreck

Plus I dunno if Em has laid off the pills ...

This... someone stated that Recovery was Em's Life Is Good... but he still seemed angry on that, especially on a subject as uplifting as getting off drugs. He still got shit on his mind, he's still not over Kim, he's still not confident in his own skill and status in the game, and I definitely agree that he might still be on drugs or fighting the effects of it. Unless he can truly fight off his own demons, he can never make a happy album.

I ain't trying to start anything, I'm just curious. I was talking with a friend yesterday who heard Life Is Good and was like "Damn, this is that shit! See man, Nas is the greatest to ever do it. Can't nobody talk about serious shit like Nas."

At this point I completely agreed. But then he went off on Eminem for no reason...

"Man fuck Eminem. People be acting like he's one of the greatest, but fuck that bitch. He don't talk about shit."

Here, I started to think to myself "Yes he does, he has plenty of tracks about serious shit" but I wasn't about to start a stupid ass argument.

But that convo really got me thinking. What if Eminem had made the same album? Would we be praising it like we are? Would XXL have given it a classic rating?

I'm not saying Em= Nas in anyway, but I'm just curious to see what the IC would think of Life is Good if it was Em's album, but touched on the same topics and had the same messages as Nas did.

And the topic is not about COULD he drop Life Is Good, but if he DID drop Life Is Good. If Eminem was dealing with the same issues, and dropped a quality album (which will be CLASSIC status in two years I guarantee), would you have copped it.

em couldnt drop a LIG cuz the beats are way too soulful for him and hed be rappin about some wacky shit. that said if he dropped the exact same album bar for bar and beat for beat itd sound pretty off seein as hes not from queens.... in any case no i wouldnt buy it cuz as good as em is lyrically i cannot take a whole album of his voice and would not be bumpin it all week like i have been lig. that was the first album ive bought six 06 cuz i dont have to skip not one song on it. nas brought it point blank
