Am I wrong to think that KRIT will have a better career than Kendrick in the long term?

Good kid maad city is a classic album

Krit will never come close

He got it in him. If it wasn't for that one misstep KRIT took with LFTU they would be neck and neck in terms of material.

You look at all the new rappers who are doing well commercially, they all have a cosign or have a team.

Kendrick - Dr. Dre

Cole - Jay-z

Big Sean - Ye

Drake - Wayne

Nicki - Wayne

BoB - T.I.

Wale - Jay-z and Ross

Meek - Ross

Krit - ????????

Ludacris, TI, Bun B count or nah?

I see BIG Krit having a loyal underground/ internet fanbase ala Joe Budden minus all the negative personality/drama thar surrounds Joey constantly fir whatever reason.

Every big rapper needs a machine no matter how greatly you think of them.

Let me first say they are comparable as rappers. I think it anyone of these "new" cats can see KL it's KRIT.

Even though KL has already gone platinum and he has that machine behind him I think KRIT will hit his stride and stay there longer than KL.

i don't believe KL can keep up his popularity or this same level of musical output. A lot of people have already started turning on him, some people never liked him in the first place but I find it difficult to envision him becoming more popular than he has been In the last two years or so. I honestly don't see him topping his first two albums musically either.

On the flip side KRIT is probably the most consistent guy out there right now and unless he drastically changes his sound he will be able to make those smooth, southern jams on the underground scene for the next decade if he wants to. He's had a slow start but has bounced back a lot since the album, so maybe he won't go platinum (I don't see it anyway) but he can still have a long and prosperous career in his own right.

sounds like u been smoking crack with a crackhead in a complex with a pyrex in the the projects

If that made sense I would've been offended. Lucky you.

Good point. I don't think he fits anywhere though....maybe MMG...maybe but I think he good enough to stand alone. It may hurt him as far as sales and album releases are concerned though.

He dont fit anywhere cause he's put himself in a box. He hasnt stepped outside that box yet! Like 5 or 6 mixtapes/albums deep and still the same guy/same music. Thats all fine and dandy, it just wont translate to the mainstream ala his main influence UGK.

I think KRIT is as talented but I don't know if KRIT has that it factor to make him anything more than a underground rapper. To me all the great mc's (Pac, Big, Jay, Kanye, etc) knew how to walk the line of commercial music and underground appeal, I think Kendrick has that.

KRIT kind of has the same issue J Cole has, he has no edge to him. J Cole just has a team behind him (Roc Nation) and KRIT doesn't (Def Jam).

i wanna agree wit t/s, but i must agree with most of this, i do think krit can make (and has made) hits and break through, but not fully cross over, kinda like rick ross hasnt, on top of that, def jam is shit right now

I see him going the UGK route honestly. I also don't see anything wrong with that, it took them forever to became household names but they had a great run low key, it just took the mainstream a long time to catch up.

I also don't think he has peaked yet, he just doing what he feels comfortable doing. He already has had some good placement as far as features are concerned too. It's only a matter of time because I don't see him falling off.

Sad thing is I believe KRIT already made tracks that should have been hits. Temptation for one should have been big, it's a nice club track and all the women I played it for liked it.

Everytime I've played "Good 2getha" or "High and Lows" around someone who didn't know Krit they loved those songs...hell my uncle and aunt who are in their late 40's heard me playing "Good 2getha" pulling up to their house one day and asked "Who was that singing like that on the hook" and my uncle downloaded the damn song lol.
