Am I wrong to think that KRIT will have a better career than Kendrick in the long term?

Sad thing is I believe KRIT already made tracks that should have been hits. Temptation for one should have been big, it's a nice club track and all the women I played it for liked it.

Everytime I've played "Good 2getha" or "High and Lows" around someone who didn't know Krit they loved those songs...hell my uncle and aunt who are in their late 40's heard me playing "Good 2getha" pulling up to their house one day and asked "Who was that singing like that on the hook" and my uncle downloaded the damn song lol.

Good 2gether & Just Last Week should've been pushed as singles. I can imagine the NBA using Just Last Week as a song for NBA TNT highlights.

& both of them could've been great summer time songs if his team pushed them.

Yea somebody dropped the ball on "Just Last Week". Then again, what would they be promoting it for? Maybe shouldve just held on to it.

Meh Krit will be alight I can definitely see him having success with a "crooked smile" type record ... He just has to move his focus towards wanting to do that ... But as far as having the same type of career as kendrick? Meh I doubt it

Good kid maad city is a classic album

Krit will never come close

krit has mixtapes better than gkmc

i don't know if you can compare a dope mixtape to a complete polished album. Its like saying hot sauce can dribble better than a.i. Yes while true hot sauce has never had an nba career like a.i. Krit has some dope ass mixtapes that stay in rotation abut its still a mixtape. Part of what makes great artist is to translate mixtape success into a complete diverse and storytelling album which krit did not do with life from the underground.

Krit catalogue stronger than Kendrick. Kendrick got more hits but c'mon, the nigga be going off on random robot tangents alot of times. Krit don't have kendricks showmanship but he actually says relevant shit at a more frequent rate imo.

I think that will eventually turn a lot of people away honestly. It's reminiscent of Nicki or Eminem, not quite Busta or Ludacris levels of animation but too animated.

Lyrically he brings it but I think unless he turns down the animated vocal effects some people are going to be done with it.

You look at all the new rappers who are doing well commercially, they all have a cosign or have a team.

Kendrick - Dr. Dre

Cole - Jay-z

Big Sean - Ye

Drake - Wayne

Nicki - Wayne

BoB - T.I.

Wale - Jay-z and Ross

Meek - Ross

Krit - ????????

Good point. I don't think he fits anywhere though....maybe MMG...maybe but I think he good enough to stand alone. It may hurt him as far as sales and album releases are concerned though.

He dont fit anywhere cause he's put himself in a box. He hasnt stepped outside that box yet! Like 5 or 6 mixtapes/albums deep and still the same guy/same music. Thats all fine and dandy, it just wont translate to the mainstream ala his main influence UGK.

Don't tell His biggest fans that

I been saying Krit made the same mixtape 3 times, then put out a album just like the tapes

I mean, it work for Ross but he talking that ignorant, fraudulent shit niggas like

Krit's team sucks......Def Jam and Johnny shipes......He's had plenty of singles that could've and should've been on the radio...yes he needs to get out of his box if he wants that mainstream love Kendrick finally got. Based on that little documentary, the fact that he's not up there with his peers bothers him so thats a good thing.....it means he wants to be in a better position....so I can appreciate that. I think it will get greater later for Krit....which has pretty much been the story of his career.....dude dropped his first tape in 05 and didnt get noticed until 2010.....same thing with his commercial releases. Personally I dont think having a career like UGK is a bad thing.....it means people will never get tired of you....despite the record sales on previous albums it still took until Stankonia for Outkast to truly cross over.....that was album number 4.....when you dont shoot for radio songs it tends to take you a little longer....

I will say....Live From the Underground didnt help....you only get one chance to make a first impression.....that was the worst project out of all of his albums.....I think Cadillactica will be better....he's grown as a producer and he's working with other producers.....I commend him for not chasing a certain sound....ie every nigga hopping on a Mike Will or DJ Mustard beat....

People tend to forget or they never knew that "4eva N A day" was the same exact concept album as Good Kid Madd city....he tied in his songs to one another just like Kendrick did and had family members on the album as well.....and it came out 7 months before Good Kid.....not saying Kendrick copied him at all....but it was the same exact concept album.....just on a different scale.....so those saying Krit doesnt have it in him havent been listening....

Bun B, Luda, and TI aren't big enough cosigns for Krit.....oh and Cha Money isnt on Def Jam anymore so he can't help him either lol....

I'm constantly baffled at how KRIT managed to drop the ball with LFTU.

Of all the projects he made he managed to fuck up his debut album, if you weren't a fan it really didn't make you one. This isn't to say LFTU is garbage or anything just not up to the standards he had already set.

I like LFTU it's just not up to par with his other projects.

And like some one said that album didn't make him anymore fans I don't think it was just solid.

I think that is a major difference. GKMC actually won over new fans (the marketing machine helped im sure) and that's why KL is a star now.
