This is what I don't get. Most "regular" black people disapprove of a lot of the hoodrat shit black women/men do, so if you look at the ghetto fights at McDs and Walmart or the train and you syh, does that mean you're looking down on your own race as well?

Ummmmm wat???

I dated this girl once, her mom told us she knew she would never date a man who was 100% black.

Mind you, she was 100% black. She lost for that one.

Then there's some definite self hate going on within you.

I think thats a dude..and just because someone doesnt date a black guy.. doesnt mean they exhibit self hate.. if you have "reasons" then yea.. if you elevate the others and demean the negro then yeah.. but simply not having the experience of dating a negro male/female doesnt mean you have self hate..

REASONS

If you disapprove of the "ghetto" acts that black people do does that in fact make you whitewashed to an extent?

Yo Fellas: What do you think about girls with thick regional accents? (east coast, southern etc....)

The other day I realized every woman I've seriously dated has pretty much no accent.

Matter fact, I'm not checkin for thick southern accents on chicks

i speak with a canadian accent, don't use much slang, listen to a lot of pop (or what would be considered white people music), people always assume i'm white after talking to me on the phone, but i don't think i'm white washed at all. i have no desire to be white and i don't think that they own a certain way of talking or a certain genre of music. i think it only becomes white washing when you are doing it as a conscious effort to be more like what you think a white person is like.

Like I said this more than just about the way someone talks or music they listen to. It's their mentality.

yeah that whitewashed stuff is more than your speech

its almost like a whitewashed person thinks that if they "act" white enough white folks wont consider them black

because, to them, black is a bad thing.

That's why I quoted ghetto, I know that. :) Just curious, because black folks look down on other black folks every day. How is it so different? One group assimilates into "white culture" and is looked down upon, one does not to an extreme and is looked down upon. Is the only right way the middle ground?
