Aint One Mic one of the most powerful songs ever ?

Co-signs thread. I think it is arguably Nas's best song. Then again, Stillmatic has a couple of powerful songs on it. Had it not been for "What Goes Around", "One Mic" would be my favorite Nas song and I have every album and a lot of his unreleased material.

The context of the song: He doesn't need the flashy jewelry, cars, scandalous groupie women and beef that comes within the negatives of Hip Hop..it's nothing to him, but having one microphone to spit ill lyrics, the positive in Hip Hop is more potent than any of those things. Nas is basically saying you need the simple things to make life in Hip Hop easier..

Nas' verses are a mixture of free association and poetry, so it's not gonna be centralized on a single subject, you have to break this song down by each verse.

The linebackers were awful, and Sanchez played like a rookie, you guys cost Vick his M.V.P.....

the way Nas raised his vocal timbre with the beat made this song a classic, the video was epic.

we couldn't get to the qb and sanchez made some awful decisions. i still think vick will be the mvp now that it looks like phillip rivers will be out the playoffs.

Decent Song but the Beat & Hook were pretty wack which kinda ruined it

But Lyrically nice one of Nas best tracks as far as him letting his emotion and message being a factor rather than just Lyricism like most his Song's

One Mic is overrated IMO. The format was something "different" when I heard it on Stillmatic but I wasn't as blown away as others were. I'll listen again...although I didn't dislike the song I would skip it when I listened to Stillmatic.

I love 2nd Childhood song, one of my favorite of all time, this song is a fucking genius, talk about grown ass people can't grow up so they're still in their 2nd childhood. I know some people like that, won't let him become adult.
