Them lil niggas not listening to people that live here either. There isnt anything that can be done about this until these kids decide to stop the bs

I get what Loca is saying.. Alot of you sheltered niggers always have shit to say about Chicago but have never been here and from what I gather from the coward shit yall say, will never come here... Even tho almost every Chicago resident has stated this is a good city with a few bad pockets sprinkled throughout.. For a city with over 3 million residents...500 murders seem minuscule in comparison.. Especially when you factor in the unemployment rate and high cost of living, it could be Alot worse... So yeah... All niggers trying to disrespect my city can eat a dick bcuz unless you lived here, you have no clue about how to fix the city..

Never been a criminologist or sociologist..but i studied all types of random shit like music production and psychology, never stuck with a major...

never claimed to be an expert on life either...when i was younger i just got high and talked about what i saw on tv and heard in music...im always faded so that shit was always interesting..

Southside and the Westside are scary fucking places. I've never come in contact with as many heroin and crack users in my life.

I'm so glad I didn't grow up there. Loved the city. But i'll be damned if i've ever seen anything like that here in Canada.

But southside and some places on the westside are like a demilitarized zone. It's just brutal conditions down there.

Met a lot of nice people. Had plenty of friendly chats with bus drivers and people in the shops. But i overheard too many stories that made me either want to gtfo or (if i have to move back there in a couple years) live out in the suburbs or at the very least, on the northside or in Hyde Park (if I have to work in Southside).

But when I was there, i had to take the bus. Try taking the bus down around 75th street when you're the only non-black guy on the bus dressed all slick in my dress pants and dress shirts, and you gotta walk a half-mile from the bus stop to your apartment, and you gotta walk past the social services office everyday when there's lineup's outside.

I made sure i got my ass back to my house before dark everyday...lol

If i had the resources i'd work with everyone...

i cant save the world...just wanna hear myself on a some good songs and live comfortable...once i get my jersey im ready to get to work

I'd really listen to someone's opinion on this topic if you actually lived here, talked to people, worked with youth and got actively involved so you could offer solutions. Most niggas are just watching the news and telling us we need to get our shit together. Um, no shit, buddy, most adults and activists who have lived here for years already know that. We have a bunch of Lil' Mouse and Chief Keefs here who ain't trying to hear what you talking about if they don't see you or know what you're about.

Thing is though, Chicago's problem isn't unique to Chicago...kids not listening to adults or older folks ain't a "Chicago problem" that's young person problem in general that's not even race specific...so the "If you don't live here you can't help" argument is stupid. That's like saying a nigga from Cali can't go talk to the youth in NY about street violence just because they're from a different place. The mentality behind the violence is the same, only that changes from city to city is the gang/cliques niggas use to commit the violence. I mean most people who do seriously do work with inner city kids, speak to kids, etc. TRAVEL to different cities. Based on what you're saying, those folks shouldn't travel and speak to kids in different cities...just stick to the cities they're from.

every nigga in chicago needs to look at the man in the mirror and ask him to change his ways....no message could be any clearer...

I dont think i should go to new york cause i never been there...

i need to meet some people first before i set foot in a city

People who don't even live in Chicago don't need to be speaking on what type of solutions the city needs.

Period point blank.

Your city is not special. The same problems facing Chicago are being faced in every city across America. What a dumbass comment

I shouldnt go anywhere without knowing somebody...

thats a good idea...i dont know bout those places or how the people are cause i never been there

Chicago as a whole is a very trendy city too and the radio is only feeding negativity yo and that's for real. They talked about it one day on the radio and the DJ even when told hey you help influence said "Hey I'm just doing my job and it's what the people want" and let's be honest it's sad rap music has more of an influence than these kids parent(s).

@Loca at the same time the light is focused on here because the President is from here. I was already here in the 90's shit was worse but rarely reported.

The whole "you haven't been to Chicago, so dont' speak on it thing" might work for some people, but the way I see it is like this.

If you're in financial trouble and don't know any real methods to get yourself out of it besides using debt to pay off more debt, you're gonna keep trying and trying and trying. Maybe you'll figure it out and get out of it. But maybe you won't. And that's perfectly okay if you do it that way as long as you're not spilling your problems onto other people and know what you're plan is.

But sometimes you don't have a plan. And you just do only what you know how to do. Sometimes it takes someone from the outside to come in and say "let me try to help you fix your problem....here are a few suggestions". You can either reject them and tell them "you can't help me b/c you don't know how i got in this mess". Or you can accept their help and re-evaluate your plan-of-action. Maybe you don't even accept help from the people, but just knowing that there are ways you might not have thought of, or just knowing that there are people willing to help, helps make a big change in the way you operate your own life.

And not everyone of those people that want to help have to be accredited financial advisors. Sometimes it just takes people who have been through something similar or people who can open your mind to other options on how to fix your situation.

I chopped it up wit a rapper from Englewood and his partnas for like an hour after a networking seminar in 2010...Niggas was all the way gangsta, lol...But I actually quoted that Kanye line from "Everything I Am", and it sparked a convo bout crime and gang violence in Chicago and other places...Was pretty cool, they were pretty receptive...We was stupid high though...

No bruh... Lack of effective parenting is the issue... Point blank period... Parents are the greatest agent of socialization not the radio...
