This has to be a shock thread, 90's have more Classics, 90's had more sales and yes 90's had better production and rhymes. 2000= HIP HOP DARK AGES. The whole game went downward spiral. I know the 2000-2009 gets a bad rap. Not all the music was bad and yes there were plenty of Classics this decade but the rhymes overall went down and the Classic Material is no where near what the 90's brought. The best artist of the 90's DESTORY the best artist of the 2000. Eminem and KanYe are probably one of the few that can hold their head high for dropping quality material and even they both had a some trash. Trash Rappers of the 90's are better than the trash rappers of this decade. Sorry this decade is why people are saying hip hop is dead.

in the 90's hip hop was being creative, there was no formula, no rules, no internet, shit was pure....niggas cud do what they wanted, be gangsta, be backpackers etc....no rules

i'd say the early part of the 00'S was promising but within 4 years hip hop went downhill....
