WRONG! that's not how you supprot hip Hop.

Supporting Hip Hop is buying tickets to concerts

Calling radio statiosn (I agree with that one)

Going to autograph signings.

Buying merchandise (Tshirts, movies, etc... NOT CD's)

Listen, I haven't bought a cd in about 2 years. And I Own Thousands of Cd's from when I was a yougnein.

Cd's are a ripoff for the consumers nowadays, almost like a nuisance. They take up space, and never have more than half of the tracks being good (unless it's a metal cd)

I don't own itunes or a ipod, but I'm guessing buying tracks off itunes would be a better route to go. Good for consumers and gthe industry.

Why are u idiots trying to steer this thread off course by arguing abt the method of support??? Dummy support doesn't just mean CD SALES. of course u can buy shit online or go to a concert but the thing is alotta u snobs don't do that either. WACKA WAS RIGHT, these "lyrical" niggas ain't gettin the show money that alot rappers down south do.......and it's there fans who are to blame. All y'all niggas do is complain and wish death upon hiphop when the only ones unsatisfied with it are y'all hating ass niggas. HIPHOP IS NOT DEAD

Ain't nobody feelings hurt, I'm just pointin out that the niggas who keep claiming the game is dead are just watching it die. When eastcoast hiphop fades into oblivion we'll all know why. If u niggas love "real" hiphop so much why aren't u buying the music??? Numbers don't lie

you right but do u know why alot of people started burning cds in the 1st place? because mutha fuckas got tired of buyin albums with 2 or 3 good songs and the rest are ass. at least, thats my reason. so in a sense artists are to blame for the lack of sales. I dont know bout everyone else but if I d/l an album and I actually like it I will go out and buy it, believe it or not. Im bout to buy the new Brotha Lynch album this weekend because thats the hardest album Ive heard in a long while and I gotta support that shit. Im not supporting an album with 1000 features of the same whack rappers I done heard before. all these artists need to stop doin music together, its decreasing the value of their solo work.

c/s.. i remember wen fat joe dropped lean back my guy bought that album, we thru that garbage shit out the window.. i remember thats wen i stopped buyin so many albums.. but real talk if one of my favorite artist drop a album ima cop that shit.. i might download it first but ill end up buyin it

This is how I see it...

When a real dude drops an album, DL it first to see if it's a cop. IF IT IS a MUST cop then you BUY THAT ALBUM. Let us hip hop fans show the artist we actually appreciate hip hop still for what it was.

OB4CL2 flopped because of downloads, that album was better than most stuff out.

That's what I do, if I like the album when I hear it off the net, I cop that shit next day.

You also gotta look at it this way also. CD's are no longer an elaborate method for listening to music. Everyone walks around with MP3 players which means their music is digital. You'd be hard pressed to find someone walking around with a CD Player these days. Shit....the muhfuckas who used to walk thru the subway carts selling batteries are even a rare find. The thing is, a lot of people don't see it feasible to buy a physical copy of something that they'll later RIP onto their computer and then put on their MP3 player. So not only do you get rid of the unnecessary middleman, you also get this easier method for FREE. This whole thing about down sales stands on the fact that the CD is a dying technology (music wise). I mean...You don't even need a cd player in the whip anymore when a lot of people just hook up their ipods and whatnot to the car radio. The solution is prolly finding a way to go full digital and counting just those sales but that'll be hard because how can you really regulate getting free music on the internet that's filled with back doors. Also, some people genuinely like to collect CD's just because, so going full digital would upset them so...who knows what could be done.

Just my thoughts.

niggas need to stop blamin the albums quality, we all know the truth, sales are low cuz of downloads, if fans listen to an album and think is dope the should buy it. i do it, i still buy albums i support my favorite rappers buyin his albums period
