I agree that if we buy more good rapper shit dudes would get more attention. But many of these rappers we like don't have the mainstream appeal that Drake or Wayne does. I mean Dudes like Kweli, Mos Def, and Lupe make great songs that are catchy or radio playable yet kids aren't gonna listen to it , because they ain't talking about gats, pussy, or pulling random hoes. I had a girl say that Kick , Push was dumb but she liked the song.

Its interesting because in the past 10 years we have had allot of rappers who do not care about lyric quality like the soulja boys wacka's lil johns. But in the past decade. either Luda, Outkast, Kanye, or Eminiem has had the top selling hip hop album at the end of the year. Case in point, despite the amount of ringtones, youtube views or plays on the radio this pop top 40 rap gets someone who is about lyrics gets the top selling album.
