Everyone who reps it knows the history they're invoking and are choosing to flaunt it, either in chosen ignorance or to purposefully spite the ones who'd be sensitive to it. Either way, I don't see how posters are defending something so offensive. I'm not not going play devil's advocate...disagreeing just to disagree like some posters on here.
It's also obvious Yelawolf knew what he was doing. People (Lord Jamar and others) were publicly calling him a racist, wearing the confederate flag on instagram is basically him inviting those perceptions of him to persist.
Sir...If that's referring to me...Thats not what I'm doing at all in regards to this matter...I litrally...Do not give a single fuck about that flag or whoever wears it...I grew up in SC and I know full well the history behind it...I just refuse to allow it any of my emotions...If someone disrespects or demeans me I handle it accordingly, Black, white, whatever...However, I know how to discern disrespect from other intentions...And I also know I have bigger things to worry about in my every day life than what someone is wearing and why...
@A1000MILES Well, it's a couple of posters so I didn't want to just point out one person. I actually do feel like you are one of the posters though. You're a intelligent man, I've seen your post on this subject and other threads as well. You actually back up your statements with facts and good points so that's why I didn't resort to calling you a coon, troll, or whatever. I basically agree with you in that it doesn't really offend me enough to get all mad and pissed but where I disagree with you is the "it's just a flag" part. I honestly can't think of any reason to defend stuff like that but whatever.
Thank you...And yes, I totally understand why many people are still offended and still only see the history...All I be sayin in all these threads is that from my perspective, we should stop givin a fuck about this typa shit...

So we are less than human because some people arent as offended as others, nigga shut yo dumb ass up.
truth hurts doesn't it
I knew this day would come. where a peckarwood could get away with rockin a confederate flag and it really wouldn't be that big of a deal to some of these Coons.
but wait it gets worse.

Accountability for what? ....black people need to be or should in anyway feel accountable for white racism?
Stop it bruh ...in here sounding silly

A lot of the arguments for co-signing the openly unscrupulous and morally reprehensible behavior of these various bigots is just sad and misguided on so many levels.

The very words whites used to justify enslaving and oppressing us. Come on bruh we can do better than that.

I've read up to p5 and some of these responses are saddening but not surprising.
Don Imus sayd something offensive and people pull the "rappers say it too" card to try to shift the focus from a shock jock making a statement that some perceived as racist to rappers and misogyny. Gwynnette Palthrow tweeted the N-word and rappers and black entertainers and n*ggas in general defended her, saying stuff like "blacks say it too, why can't she". Zimmerman stalks Trayvon for the simple fact he's black, gets into a scuffle that he initiated and shoots an unarmed Trayvon and people bring up black on black crime in Chiraq like that had anything to do with the topic at hand. Paula Deen was exposed as having a history of making racist remarks and racist policies and people wanna talk about why blacks can use the n-word and others don't. Riley Cooper says he'll "fight any n*gger inside" a Kenny Chesney show (lol) and people wanna talk about why blacks can use the n-word and others don't. His black collegues and black anchormen like Charkles Barkley and Stephen A. Smith went out of their way to defend him. I can go on but I think most see where I'm going with this.
I kinda understand why whites would wanna shift the focus, but you actually got blacks regurgitating that sh*t to get in good graces with them which is sad.
Jews won't defend a gentile that offends them. Even gays won't defend a straight person that offends them. N*ggas (and I use that term litterally) will defend any outsider that offends them. While groups like gays and Jews have a financial support system set up so they don't have to rely on outsiders, n*ggas got no such support system in place so they have to rely on outsiders for employment. I can see why n*ggas lack integrity.

We should be accountable for things we can control, like calling each other niggas allday and being tight when another race says it, killing each other for material things like Jordans and rims, teaching our kids to value education, glorifying drugs and gangs etc.... I understand Yelawolf is flossing a Flag that represents oppression and slavery but we also have to consider there are 10,000 young cats in Chicago that want to be just like this youngins persona:
Some of them are going to get a hold of a weapon and continue to terrorize our communities, and we encourage that by supporting this type of fuckery but...but.... but.... but.... but Yelawolf is still racist, well lets "call for his head" like Don Imus. Because we all know blacks lives improved drastically when he was fired.
After that can we start tackling some real issues? Please?

You ever think that maybe some black people care about their community and thats why we bring up issues in our own group opposed to getting in whites good graces. I will tell you why I bring up Chiraq we are harming each other at an alarming rate, Treyvon was unjustly murdered and its sickening and reminiscent of the Jim Crow era. We stood tall for that as a people and we stood tall on the Don Imus issue, But why cant we stand tall on issues that harm us everyday. The N Word is whole different debate I want even get into that.
