That's all I'm tryna say bruh bruh ... Niggas just need to be consistent with they critiques

where do u place this album on kanye albums (you can include wtt and cruel summer as kanye albums if you want) and what you think pitchfork gonna rate this?

also since u like kanye a lot (no diss) is there any other kanye album that upon first listen you were as confused as you were with this one?

You know bruh ... I really don't know right now ... I think I like it more than 808's and graduation and certainly cruel summer ... But don't get me wrong ... This is a weird ass album ...but I like weird I like unpredictable so that don't bother me ...Im going I have let it marinate for at least a few more days to really peep all what's going on ..content wise this shit is everywhere and I think the leaked track sequencing is fucked up from the actual retail versions so that may help put shit in proper order .. Make it more digestible[/b] .. All those dance influenced tracks lumped together dosent seem to make sense .. [/i]

Idk about that "I'm in it" or "can't handle my liquor" ....some of these song structures are wild as fuck ... It's hard to keep up with what's going on ... Hella tempo or beat changes ...not bad songs ...just you gotta listen a couple times to see what's going on

I'm not fuckin with that "send it up" tho... I ain't feelin no damn "King Louie" ....hopefully it grows on me

LOL @ people using "Hipters" reviews to justify it's a good album. Also LOL @ people saying "You only listen to hip hop or this if you don't like this album". I'm musically versed in damn near every genre and I listen to all types of music even country. The album feels average an all over the place. The 1 rap feature is forgettable. No standout songs outside of a few. I commend Ye for pushing boundaries but Different doesn't always mean good. Experimental doesn't always mean Great.

When Common "Experimented" with "Electric Circus", everyone said he fell off and sold out. What about Will i Am? He's been rapping over these sames types of beats from "Yeezus" for YEARS yet everyone said he sold out. Yet Ye does it and it's good cause he pushing Hip Hop? Stop. Did Nicki Minaj push Hip Hop forward with all those same electro/house beats she was rapping over? Nope we all said she sold out. Now am I saying Ye sold out? Not really but I think people need to be more consistent. If Jay Z rapped over these same beats everyone would be calling it the worst Jay Z album ever. Ye isn't getting a pass from me. I don't need to Rolling Stone or Pitchfork critics who most likely could careless about Hip Hop as culture telling me what I'm suppose to like.

KanYe is obviously doing anything and everything to get that Album of the Year Grammy so he did exactly what J. Cole was complaining about. Why can't a Rapper do a RAP album and get album of the year? Why do they have to Sing like Lauryn and 3 Stacks? Or make European electronic music like KanYe just did? So in order for a Rap album to get love we have to completely damn near leave our Genre all together? I understand Hip Hop in general is a fusion of genre's but Ye is singing more than he's rapping. This album sounds like a sequel to "808's" and make "MBDTF" sound CLASSIC. Shoot "Watch The Throne" sh!ts on "Yeezus" heavily and people were thought that could be better. In closing it's a 3.5 MIC LP and not one of KanYe's best.

White America going to eat it up cause the production is mostly done by Daft Punk. Also Kanye had Rhymefest writing on damn near every song. His name is only on 2 tracks as far as production. KanYe is barely producing or writing. He basically like Dr. Dre and Puffy at this point. Don't worry if he write rhymes, he writes checks I guess right? I've been a KanYe fan from the 1st beat I heard from him in High School off the Jermaine Dupri album. I've been a fan for over 15 years. This album was not that good. I'm sorry. Trying to spin it like people don't have musical knowledge is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if he sampled Garth Brooks. If it's hot, it's hot. This album has a couple of joints but most of it I've already forgotten about. In closing I'm all for Kanye expanding himself musically as long as the songs are good. "Yeezus" is uneven with more lows than highs. You still my n!gga though Ye. With all that said I'm glad he threw us a bone with "Bound 2". Sh!t, "White Dress" sh!ts on majority of the album.

tell em why you mad son.

i dont get why you ppl who dont like the album get upset at the idea of people liking the album

smh.

this thread shows me who is musically incline and who just listen for the beat to drop.

not a terrible album because there are few gems. however, its very sloppy musically, the blends are horrible to the transition to the beat.

those mags are filled with hipster writers who think "new" shit is interesting.

this album isn't innovative, refreshing, or new. its mentally tiring to hear and dechiper because of the chaos he is going through personally.

What you don't like a out the transitions chuck? I mean I ge you think they are sloppy and all but how do you mean? And how could they have been done different?

musically the transition doesn't make sense. as in the original song plays then another song jumps in and your ears are like wtf.

there are no smooth transition in most songs on this album.

you can definitely tell that it was rushed, with no true direction, no new thought due to his repeated lyrics, rhyme structure, and flow.

he need more time.

well he's been working on this album since nov. sooo 9 months shouldve been enough time t o make an album .

he is now one of those artists that can take a two-three year break and work on a masterpiece for an album.

this chaotic album is a reflection o f his personal life. pretty sad shit.

I got you... What songs you talking about in particular? Or is it just the whole thing in its entirety?

hyped af for these bonus tracks..especially if the Drake feature is true

Why wouldn't they be on the cd? There's people with physical copies of the cd already shouldn't they have access to the bonus tracks if they exist?

Nobody reading this shit nigga

What transition issues are people talking about? All of the songs fit the vibe, even the more awkward ones. One song ends, the other begins? They're all minimalist with multiple layers and change ups. You wanted skits?

If a another artist made this noise Yall would clown but since this big faced nigga made it folk making themselves like it. Its 3 listenable songs on here and one he ruined will yelling.. niggas naming flaws but sayin oh its a 8 or 9/10 album... Bullshit.

Niggaz didn't have a problem critizing cruel summer ... But now all of a sudden niggas are "forcing themselves" to like a kanye project?

after listenin to it a few times its a pretty good album. im not feelin onsite. it reminds me of that episode of friends where ross is makin that crazy ass music on his keyboard. I am a god is dope as fuck once I edited the screamin out. and hold my liquor is dope once I took that weak ass hook out. Blood on the leaves is a problem and everything else is musically dope. its just yall keep expecting a hip hop album from yeah but hes expanded beyond that to experimenting with music. I feel like with this album he kind of gave us a taste of what he could do in each genre of music....hip hop, soul, techno, dancehall, etc

Look at all the things you just said you had to edit out, bruh but there's nothing wrong w/ the album? That's the problem not his experimentation.

Man I can't stand y'all fuck niggas.

I didn't say there wasn't anything wrong wit the album. I just said I enjoyed it. theres a bunch of shit he coulda done better but I take it for what it is

That's a intro track and it actually sets the tone for the the album. You don't like it, so what. But i'm thinking we are talking about transitioning between tracks not one song having a beat change up that's hardly distracting besides the original beat being something you can't cosign. You getting a bit too agitated over an album my brother. Bring it down a bit.

I wonder how you niggas would have received all of these "hipster" "white people" reviews had them shits been negative ...lol .... The bias is too easy to read in some of y'all's post ... All you gotta say is ..that's coo they think such n such ... I don't agree ... And leave it at that..But niggas gotta go all out of their way to find some cop out excuse or rationalization as to why the albums getting good reviews .... That makes niggas arguments seem mad desperate and as if you gotta grasp for straws since you don't have any confidence in your own opinions..

the same white hipsters love kendrick lamar's album i dont see many people discounting their views on that album

"white hipster" gets thrown about only when the person disagrees.

Most ppl who heard the album praises its ambitions, but state it lacks content as advertised and is Rushed.

Overall, everyone say its a cool album.

Then u have these outlandish reviews, calling it a masterpiece.

Knowing damn well, had the artist was Future shit would of been call wack.

Nobody gave a fuck about them critics nigga. Go thru that thread and you'll see the majority of us thoroughly enjoyed the album with no need to mention any kinda critic.

And nobody caught on to Cudi & Kanye singing love ballads to each other on Guilt Trip?

"If you love me so much then why you let me go?"

y'all need to stop saying "if so and so made this album"

that would be like saying if future made "7 day theory"

or if schoolboy q made "enter the 36 chambers"

artists can only make what is inside of them. future can't make a gucci mane album anymore than he can make a blueprint. now he might TRY and re-create that, but it will still be distinctively part of future. This is clearly a kanye album and anyone who listens to it can tell its a kanye produced project. if kanye was not involved with this project it would not sound like this. so enough with the "if so and so did this" cause so and so can't do this.

thats like saying if tyler perry made django unchained people would say....

but tyler perry can't make django unchained, he can make a tyler perrry style django unchained but it would be nothing like tarantino's version, even if they had the same exact script.

After severals listens, this album has grown on me considerably. I liked it initially, but I took the criticisms to heart and still wasn't entirely sure how I felt. I think it's great, even if not his best. "Blood On The Leaves" is incredible. I'm not a Kanye West fan traditionally. I didn't like Watch the Throne or his earlier albums that much. I liked his last solo album, though.
