What I want to know is where are the BLACK wu fans?

The black de la, Quest and Gang Starr fans? on ig twtr and fb all you see posting selfies sportin their gear is white people...white people are doing all this "supporting" but when it comes to award time, who gets the support? A pretty white girl. ..a surprise? HAIL NAW

regardless of my opinion of wu tang

i've mentioned multiple times that wu tang has become a trendy hipster/hippie type crowd, they think it's "cool" to wear the wu tang symbol and all of that, not even sure if they know the music all that well

I think the answer is; serious Black folks have more important things to do with their time than to Stan their favorite band.

White people, from the suburbs or elsewhere, have more free time and money to be Stans of their favorite band (going to concerts, buying albums, t-shirts, hats, bracelets, etc.). Maybe a White person would spend $100 on concert tickets while a Black person of the same financial demographic would sooner spend $20 on going to a nightclub...But they both have the same amount of money to spend....Then the Black person spends the remaining $80 on sneakers. (We know Black folks spend money on sneakers)

Also, it's possible that through social connections and networking it's more feasible for your average white person to attend a Wu Tang concert (I.e getting free tickets because he knows the promoter/owner).

Just a theory.

White kids are more into hip hop culture than most black kids are now a days. That's why u see so many white kids breakin and doing graffiti. Sadly most black people are just into rap and only the mainstream rap, they are more about the image not the substance.

Yea. Whites and Asians dominate Breaking, Graff and Turntablism

The white people that listen to the legends of rap are not the same ones that give out awards

I've never really understood why people use this as a way to bash the Wu. Do ya'll really think Jay got to where he is without white fans? Do you think that Kanye won all those Grammys because of his Black fans? Pretty much ever really successful rap act has a ton of white fans.

And there are lots of Black wu fans. White fans just tend to do crazier things in support of the people they like, so you see more of them. But I've seen random black dudes with Wu-tang tattoos. The average rapper/rap group doesn't have people tatting themselves in support.

Dope music is dope music...this been happening way b4 hip hop...u know how many old songs I thought were by black mfs only to find out artists were white as I got older...mfs had some damn soul

some people would think that when a certain someone that has an image, content and message or stigma

they would automatically appeal to individuals who are of the same image and stigma...

like... Mac Miller... all his fans would look like him, do the same shit he raps about and dress the same as him...

So white guys who act like black guys who act like Chinese guys.

Jay has had a strong white fanbase for a long time. Him not being "Hollywood" and not having a lot of white fans are not the same thing.

Wu tang has the best image/gimmick ever in hip hop.

it's a world you can get into.They're like a kung fu,gangster,comic book/film.
