so a song like "I Gave You Power" would be headphone music?

because you won't necessarily play that in the club, or at a birthday party or cruising down the street.

Its not club/party music but who is to say that it can't be played in the whip?

It can and I do listen to it all in my whip at sometime but it wont sound as good as if you were to listen to it with some nice headphones.

3-6, Lil Jon, Jeezy- Woofers in the whip

Nas, Em, Wu-Tang- Headphones

Outkast, Tupac, Jay-Z- Anything

See what I did there?

I could only comment from personal experience. That experience being that i've never heard a jay track being played in a car before.

Think he was saying his music sounds good in a car or headphones, not that he actually heard other people playing his music in the car and headphones.

So basically lyrical rappers=headphone music

^ IMO an artist most here would consider headphone music imo this track qualifies as both that Just Blaze beat is flamez...

Nas Made You Look The Don and Nasty sounds dope in the car but most of his material does not even though songs are dope.

For the most part but lyrical rappers like Jay and Outkast hear the music differently then most. Thats why they appeal to so many different ppl then the majority of rappers. I can go deeper but its Saturday, fuck that lol I know u know what Im talkin bout anyway.

So nas isn't both? If not I must be fucking up with life is good then.

For the most part, no. LIG, Stillmatic and Untitled sound just fine in the whip. Illmatic, IWW and I Am do not.

That's what I love about hip-hop you have music that's stricly for the club, you've got trunk music, and of course that music you can vibe to. Headphone music ehh I've never heard the term and I'm not crazy about it. If you define it as music you put on your headphones and vibe to, that's cool. As far as listening to music on your headphones because you don't want any one else to hear it that's lame as fuck.

I guess it depends on the person and what they consider music for the whip.
