I think it speaks to the power and growth of hip hop more than anything else.

This .

White people feel more opened to saying it due to artists like Lil B , Odd Future , tumblr rappers and their "do whatever the fuck you want" shenanigans .

I don't the see what the problem is .

All I know is that Martin Luther King didn't die so you can call each other the n word. Your belittling yourselves.

They already are... and its you niggas faults confusing the frivolous friendships and associations due to weed and hiphop.. dubbing white mikes and dannys honorary niggas......Niggas are weak...for making others comfortable/ encouraging this..

Still no justification to my posts in any way shape or form. I must have hit a spot where you guys cannot post back. Nothing relevant anyway.

I still say why get mad for other people wanting to say this word. What makes this word so special, beside the facts that historically the word was created to belittle the black race or presently the word means the same. But when a black person says it, it means buddy. So why does the meaning all of a sudden change when another race says it. Especially when they are using the n word in friendly manner describing a buddy or friend.

Maybe this is too much for a hip hop forum?

Ugh I hate when people say stupid shit like this (and i say this with all due respect sir). A man's life, no matter how great it was, doesnt and shouldnt define the lives of others. MLK did what he wanted to do and was well aware of the possible consequences. Nobody, let alone this generation, asked him to do what he did. Besides, saying "nigga" most likely wasn't even on his radar. That shit is petty and far less important than what he actually died for, which was civil rights. Matta fact, you might even say that he did die for us to say the "n word." He died for the freedom and liberty of all peoples, black and white.

I don't know exactly what you are referring to, but I'll check out your previous posts. Speaking of which, I'm still waiting on black jerry's response:

ugh i'm sick of this. words are inherently malleable. When did we start to become controlled by words when we were the ones to create and mold them in the first place?

There is a general yet distinctive difference between "nigger" and "nigga." They are not one in the same. People need to get over themselves.

false. there is no difference between nigger and nigga except spelling

This can be true, yet it also cannot be true. Like I said, words are malleable and subjective. We define words by assigning them meanings . I can define "nigger" one way, and then define "nigga" in another distinctive way, and many people have been doing this. So I don't understand what you're saying.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying here because you seem to be arguing both sides here. But yeah, I agree? Like I said previously, I find it funny/odd how people let words have so much control over them. Especially words that evolve and change and add meanings over time, which is what words are inevitably supposed to do.

The meaning most people are saying the n word is here is meaning buddy or friend. The OP makes it seem that white people are going to be using the n word as a derogatory word, but that is not the case at all. White people are using the word to describe their friends and buddies. Now as a general question to all blacks, why get mad when you know the white people or any other race for that matter can use the n word to describe a friend or buddy. It's like black people getting mad when someone calls them brother. Brother to me means best friend, not a black person.

So we are both right. And yes specifically MLK died because he was assassinated, not for any special reason, but because of his views on racial equality. I read a paper recently stating that even saying the words black and white is being racist. If we want the world to be truly racially equal then no words of color should be spoken from any side.

No it isnt too much for this board.

u really arent saying anything....at all.

every week a white, or someone of another race brings up y craccaz should be allowed to say it nothing is going to come of the arguments.

People still r going to feel how they do based on how they were raised and experiences.

There's black people who dont care and those that will beat the fuck outta u.....keep rolling the dice u gonna meet one or the other...

Funny how people on here think that it's the first time someone has been threatened online. It's so easy to say anything, but we all know that if you're a true thug, you're in jail or on you're way to jail. Cause who knows you are and you obviously don't know who I am, so the threats are almost anonymous. So threaten me all you want, all I know is where I'm from we burn down your house with your family in it, and that's just a warning. Dice thrown.

10 years? You mean like 10 minutes?

Yeah I dont remember this phenomenon in 2002. I been learned about sayin "so and so is gon be like this in the future". And if anybody does predict the future, Im smart enough to deal with that nonsense accordingly. Random Future predicting is automatically not taken seriously.
