If Nas was one of the top 10 on the Forbes and and had a hand in sports teams, Movies, production companies, and put out artists would he then finally be a deserving Goat and get the same kinda pass Jay get for weak shit like BP3 and watch the throne....or is music music and business business and not linked together for a legacy?

As usual, when Nas getting shitted on, his fanatics insert Jayz. Im not even going to waste to much time on this. Music is subjective. When you let your views of quality music somehow form a worldy fact, then you have issues. You didnt like Jayz last three albums? And? Im sure theres people who did. Same way I have not liked a Nas disc in a decade but I know there are many who did. You niggas are literally unable to converse without female like emotions. Typing in caps, making zero sense. Its wack. Its all about music with Nas, but personal business is important for other rappers. Shits hypocritical and redundant.

Jay Z is a business man

But he's also a RAPPER

All I'm sayin is it should be about the music at all times! If Im callin somebody a rap Goat it's because of what they did or said on they CD's. With you groupies a nigga is a Goat because of what company they own, who married them and groupie shit like that. Making no sence? Female emotions? Don't talk to me about female emotions when you Jigga warriors care about how fat his pockets is. Yall sound like prostitutes bragging about this man's money and business ventures. What yall gonna talk about next as to why he the God mcees...his dick size? Let me know now so I can leave this thread for good before yall start gettin extra gay in here. Why is his business or Nas lack off so important to yall?

Im trying my hardest to understand how this shit makes any damn sense. I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're not naive enough to think that this music business is somehow not a business. You making it hard though. Bottom line is, if niggas wanna keep this shit strickly music when they little favorite rapper is involved they need to possess the maturity to do it with all rappers. Silly ass excuses, that really make zero sense being that Nas is doing business with his label making him a rapper/businessman also, really expose how in love some if you are with these artist. Shits scary.

I was proud of "Untittled" & "Distant Relatives" because they were cultural projects released into a mainstream that is over saturated with compromising pop songs and Eurocentric themed projects that don't speak to the community that birthed HipHop.

I'm completely immersed in the culture so I view Rakim almost as a deity and I my respect and deference comes from his lyrical poetry, timeless songs and influence within the culture lololol his finances and shareholdings never enter my mind. :)

Could you imagine people questioning Jerry Rice legacy as an athlete because he never sold billions of shoes or cans of Chunky soup??

Could you imagine Denzel Washingtons legacy as an actor being questioned because he didn't start his own production company??

Many outside fans have been brainwashed and conditioned to believe that a rapper is somehow less of a rapper if he mainly focuses on music, and performing rather than selling products.

The one curious fellow with the MJ avatar has failed to address why rappers are held to these insane standards that athletes, actors, and other entertainers are not.

Jek I feel you that it should be about music, but bottom line is people constantly take it beyond music. Tupac got raped in jail. Beyonce having random guy not jayz baby. Big and puff were sexually involved. Baby molested Wayne. Flav a coon. Cube a coon. The list goes on and one. Nas gets it too but the huge difference is that his fans who partake in getting in the personal lives of other rappers, are now frontlining on some "its all about music shit" because they man involved. Hypocrisy is ugly no matter how you try to mask it.

If somebody ANY JIGGA STAN!! Can logically explain to me why its not gay as Hell to be googling how much niggas made last year or any other year....explain to me why that affects where you should rank an mcee (point of the thread)....and let me know why I should care more about who Artist put out or produce than the Classics they put out themselves.

If anybody can answer those questions seriously without bullshittin and give me actual masculine reasons I can respect, then I swear to God, I'll leave this thread and you Nas bashing Jigga warriors alone I Promise!

It's ridiculous man, and I'm seeing you try to talk sence to these guys and they stay being on some other shit like these Rap business men finna give them a Job n shit. Smh

Its impossible to be gay if u Look up numbers that applies to a thread topic

You're emotional and illogical and cant accept the fact your favorite rapper is the hip hop equivalent of a janitor compared to his peers

Now leave the thread like u said u would

Nope you ain't answer my question. You may not have slept with the man but sounding like you admire his money and accomplishments as if you are a golddigger yourself at the very least is giving out Gay tendencies so no....not a masculine enough explaination, come up with something better ...fuck outta here with your penis envy lovefest with another man' s paper

Actors have emmy's,critical acclaim and box office numbers to make their legacies

Athletes have statistics, accomplishments and accolades to make their legacies

Jordan was known worldwide for nike and gatorade just like he was known for droppin 63 on the C's and winnin 6 titles,10 straight scoring titles, etc

If we want to use that criteria nas hasnt went plat in 7 years and his album just got pushed back to 2012 due to lack of buzz

And distant relatives is an album nobody outside this forum ever speaks of that couldnt even go gold and it sucks

So whatever point u were tryin to make still makes no sense

Now you have regressed into incoherence.

The question remains: why do you people feel that a rap-artist who makes his living reciting poetry on wax or on stage has to simultaneously masquerade as a corporate business man?

When people within the Art world view a Basquit or a Van Gogh they don't debate about their business dealings, they appreciate the art.

Hopefully Kendrick Lamar will have a 20 year career and my sun will grow up appreciating his music and his contributions to the culture, and after 20 years I will question my sun about Kendricks Legacy and we will talk about how he dropped a classic, how he brought the West back, how he avoided beefs and gimmicks, how he never sold out, and how his idol Nas was an inspiration throughout his career.

Gold-diggers are unimpressed with Nas net worth, HipHop fans are impressed with his lyrics....we are who we are.

Music is entertainment

Im not impressed by wack ass music(untitled and distant relatives) from a pseudo intellect/rapper that focuses on the culture

My fam taught me all I needed to know about african american culture growin up

I dont get impressed wit rappers who do it cuz it unless its quality music and for nas Its not,its terrible music

Ok so if you ain't impressed and his music puts you to sleep so bad why did you tell me you have him in your top 3 around this time last week? It's week to week with you isn't it?
