hey johnny boy aka thread starter,

My nigga u need to step your knowledge game up. You do know that he's a co-owner of the rock the bells tour right?? That's major cake right there in itself. And why do u care what he does on a business side?? Just because he aint on forbes magazine don't mean he aint making moves. The dude is caking on a low and he could care less if the whole world knows it or not. Seriously i dont know where ya be getting your false information from. You have to come better than dat my dude if you wanna be taken seriously. 1

People tend to have high expectations for rappers when it comes to everything but music. As far as Nas business savvy goes, it's subject to interpretation. His primary objective is to make music and that is all.

lol @ this.....he cant be number 1 at anything because he chooses to just make music? lol thats crazy.....where in the hip hop rule book does it state that you have to be an exec, put a gang of rappers on and all this extra shyt.......

Nas raps about pharaohs and kings but his dumb ass cant tell u how to get no corporate global dough and be worth 250 mil +

And ya'll buy the shit caught up in the hype, just cuz a nigga wear a kufi dont mean that he right

...I cant see how anybody can take this Dude serious...You sound like a "Kimbella type" homie...worried about Nasir's pockets...smh...

Soooo..... are you saying your smart ass can get global dough and be worth 250 mil +?This nigga typing like getting 250 mil is on the McDonald Menu or some shit

DarkRaiden;3720272 said:
Who cares if you or that troll/coon tommy have Nas in your top whatever? Actual good rappers, even the ones you named, have Nas as either the GOAT or in the top 5.LOL at you worrying about another mans' money so much you hate him for not getting more.

bkkbully;3720411 said:
Maybe because different artists have different definitions of success? Why does Nas have be neck and neck with Young Money or any of the other silly shit you posted? Why can't the nigga just stack up with his side business and chill with his family, release music when the fuck he wants to. All the shit you stated had nothing to do with music. What ever happened to being a fan of just the music?? These niggas swear they're A&Rs now or some shit GTFO

NothingButTheTruth;3720463 said:
Didn't Nas just get sentenced to pay 55K A MONTH for child support? ... I'm sure his money is just fine.

Also, stop forcing your definition of status and success on someone else. I personally would prefer a low-key Nas-like career over these loud dudes like JayZ and Snoop. Who wants to be in the spotlight at all times like that. That shit is wack to me....Let the dude live his life. You over here comparing one dude to the next, like how come rapper A didn't do what rapper B did? Idk maybe because he's his own person, and his lives his life the way he sees fit.

jonathan_cephas;3721071 said:
I guess yall right. If he want to stay on the fries at McDonalds then hey, more power to him. But I think its stupid for a nigga to be on fries for 20 years. Hell even 5 years. By 10 years I wanna own a McDonalds and be feeding my family and my family families.

....Him and Bilfiger is fuckin hilarious...

aijalon;3721093 said:
Nas has little interest in becoming a corporate puppet.

..........Exactly.......

Smh @ these undercover JayHova witnesses and these Nas lost bandwagon riders...this post has so much flawed logic it must get ripped.

How is Nas not staying relevant? He recently dropped hot ass verses with Common ("Ghetto Dreams") and Lil Wayne ("Carter 4 Outro") He's still releasing music ("Nasty and upcoming album Life Is Good) and is a top 3 MC..what else must he do? Your opinion on "reinventing": What do you considering reinventing? Must hey must stay relying on the hottest/trendy/gimmicks to stay up? If that's your idea, then you obviously got it fucked up and possibly a young, smart dumb nigga. But as far as him releasing new shit with fresh lyrical content each year the relevancy speaks for itself. You've basically contradicted yourself..how you're a fan of lyrics, in HIP HOP, but you think it takes MORE THAN THAT? If that's the case, Rakim, Kool G., Kane, Slick Rick might as well be thrown out because they're considered greats in Hip Hop. You're probably some stan/weirdo who foams at an artists bank account and thinks that makes an artist great.

You might possibly have an argument here, but even "bosses" have bosses still looming over them because they have their own money tied into it and it's even more difficult and stressful. So either way to a certain extent, there's no such thing as being a "boss" per se . i.e. Dre has Aftermath, but he's Jimmy Iovine puppet and Jimmy still pulls the strings. Puff still has Bad Boy but Clive Davis is his puppeteer Baby/Wayne with YMCMB, but Universal..get the picture? And Nas had Bravehearts, but they didn't have Nas' lyrical capacity to stay afloat..and yes their "trendy" single with Lil Jon (who was hot at the time) worked, but it still wasn't enough. Maybe being a corporate puppet isn't in Nas best interest.

Rick Ross stayed BUSY and worked his ass off to the point he had not one, but two seizures. But he found his niche and stuck with it. Wayne found his niche, albeit somewhat to the point of being borderline homo and it worked for him too. And does having a team=winning? No. So another shitty logic you try to spew gets flushed. As far as Gucci Mane can't stay outta jail long enough, plus doing 20 shows a month 30K a show doesn't equals success, longevity in legend status. In other words both Waka and Gucci will be only a flash in the pan when its all over with. And Snoop been sold out and pimping/attention whoring themselves. Busta just doing the usual to stay trendy: whoever's making noise AT THE MOMENT he rolling with that..

...Yes..it's obvious. You're a bandwagon "Nas Lost" clown/weirdo..I wouldn't be surprised if you're an actual IC member under another gaylias account.

.....^^^....MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY....^^^^^^^^^^

Nas still goes gold til this day and always seems to be able to make a new song/hit to make the fans anticipate.

I don't see how Nas fails to stay relevant

Steve Stoute said that Nas turned down more deals than he's done, and that he's not running the same race as Jay, Puff and 50. Nas got in the game to use his poetry to get him and his family out of the projects, make his mark in music and inspire other artists. I don't think Nas got in the music game to have "Beats By Nas", Streets Disciple Energy Drink, or Ill-Will-Wear. *JordanShrug*

Honestly, who cares that he isn't a better business man than those that were in his era. He drops great music, and I don't think he ever wanted to establish a brand outside of just making music.

Keep obligatorily cosignin anybody who is capable of articulating a point better than your dumb ass can

Thats all u do

nas stans got bodied wit facts, and they are typing essays and obligatorily cosignin anybody who posts cuz of it

Bodied with what facts?!! If Nas died tommoro his place in the rap game and his legacy is set, top two mcees ever. Ain't nobody gonna give a fuck if he had a clothing line, or if he was a business partner Brown nosing for so and so or if he married a model or not. And again,...even an introvert like Nas with his horrible talking voice will have a better chance at a movie career than your personalityless Jay Z or Lloyd Banks bruh...... You tryin too hard smh to make Jigga a man who can do all things

lloyd banks net worth is 2 million less than nas' and kanye west is worth 3x nas' worth

Nas is just a rapper wit no business Iq and no vision to expand like a smart nigga would

funny how niggas who been in the game half the time were smart enough to cake, everybody except nas

Like Jigga said "I'm a legend/you should take a picture wit me/you should be happy to be in my presence/I should charge you a fee"

you talkin like the nigga owe you money or somethin... why you all in other niggaz pockets? what kinda shit is that? who gives a fuck.

rakim and kool g rap are considered two of the greatest lyricists ever. neither of them own companies, have products, are producing an all star hip hop team etc. but they are revered as great and influential to the culture. i look at nas similar to that. not everyone has to be flashy, people have different personalities. if i come from the projects and im worth a million dollars now, im happy. is 10 or 100 million better? of course. but 1 mil is fine if you grew up with nothing lol. thats prolly where nas coming from.

Nas will always be one of the greatest to me.

Nas is one of those rappers that got into rap music to make rap music, Nas didn't get into HipHop to be a hustler and use the culture as a vehicle to wash dirty drug money or peddle "Ghetto-Techno" to people in Paris.

Nas is an excellent business man even tho' I don't have access to his financial holdings or his stock portfolio a judge looked at his earnings and decided he could afford to shell out 55K a month which is more than your average Reason poster makes in a year.

Nassir Jones seems less concerned with reinventing himself to appease pre-teens or pander himself to the Euro-crowd who lust for a "Ni99er in Paris" who prides himself in "Living so Italian".....in contrast Nas seems to be happy making organic Black music and street poetry thats rooted in African and Jamacain rhythms that reflect the true essence of the culture.

Illimatic dropped in 1994 and since then Nas has dropped 9 solo albums that have all gone Gold or Platinum, last years "Distant Relatives" was released to critical acclaim and he has two albums slated for release; a solo project and a collab album with Common. So at the moment he is more "relevant" than 50-Cent, Snoop and other rappers who's careers have declined over the years.

So let's salute Nas for being an artist instead of a corporate prostitute who treats the game like a hustle or con.
