Why do people listen to mainstream rap in 2015?

Even when i'm not at a party or a club and want to hear some intrpspective/deep hip hop which is what i mainly like in hip hop anyway

It will always be Eminem, B.o.B, Kid Cudi it's why Em's my fave artist and he obviously the highest selling and most mainstream artist ever

The simple factor is they have that balance of being deep and having a message but catchy at the same time

And this is simply why most people listen to mainstream hip hop if something is deep but catchy at the same time it's gonna appeal to majority of the public

All it comes down to is taste just because most share my taste as oppossed to liking the likes of Nas, Black Thought, Lupe Fiasco, Pharoah Monch, Royce, Canibus, KRS One doesn't mean our taste is superior but it's a very straight forward reason and as i said that reason comes down to catchiness

I've seen you mention him alot in your posts. He's doo-doo deluxe.I can't take anyone's hip hop opinion seriously if they like b.o.b but not like nas, lupe, black thought or pharaoh monch.

You don't like hip hop You like pop music.

And that's what differentiates fans who only listen to mainstream shit and hip hop heads. One group prefers pop music, and the other prefers hip hop

B.o.B is a Hip Hop Artist u don't have to like him that's fine u certainly won't change mine or any of his fans who like his music opinions

I explained why i don't like Nas, Lupe, Black Thought, Pharoahs music explained in detail as well

B.o.B gives u the whole package verses, hooks, melodies, singing, production while a Nas only gives u rap bars and is terrible at the other aspects. Having the whole package is important to me B.o.B is Artistc he can do what Nas can't

For me Song Writing>>>>>being just a good MC

And secondly even though both B.o.B and Nas both have substance and a message B.o.B delivers it in an engaging and interesting way that connects to me while i don't find Nas message or substance engaging at all but boring

I keep saying it is about taste but u got to be naive to not understand why most people like my self want the whole package from a rapper and rappers who are all rounded artistically

There's still a lot of good mainstream music out there. I know some hate Fetty Wap but I can't stop playing My Way (original version). Most mainstream music sucks true, but there's some bangers out there. I was very disappointed in ASAP Rocky's new album though.

I check shyt out from time to time, especially on roadtrips.....I gotta keep it fresh, if I hear something I like it gets added to my playlist....Shyt aint all bad....And yo, my boy is/was the most anti-mainstream mos def, high and mighty,wats that nigga name shabam shadeeq or something, dialated people etc listening cat, but after a couple drinks sun would be out on the dancefloor jamming....dont let cats fool you.....

That's how I look at it, I prefer Lupe over 98% of everything out there but there's times when you just wana have fun with a record and fuck around. I do that shit all the time, but can blast a deep record half an hour later or sooner, depending on my mood.

Like Flicka Da Wrist is a horrible song lyrically but I been blasting that joint a few times a day cuz of the new jewelry I bought.
