...So when it's all said and done, it's about what you label as success. If money equals success (which is does for most people), then NBA player, NFL player, Actor, Emcee, Successful Comedian > Doctor.... Stop thinking everyone has to follow some default template on how to be successful.
Not quite, Blacks in the United States are doing rather poorly when it comes to the prevalence of hunger/food insecurity, in addition to poverty. So, it's evident that despite the success of the few famous, Blacks' lagging behind is more than mere labeling.

Life isn't about what the government deems as educationally sound. I agree Knowledge is Power, but at the same time, while these Asian guys are going to school for multiple years trying to be a doctor, us Black people are either doing the same thing, or making millions through sports and entertainment.

How many Asian actors are there? Professional sports? Comedians? Talk show hosts? No matter how much they try to hold us down, we always find a way to come out on top.

.

This is a terrible comparison. How many black actors/athletes, SUCCESSFUL musicians, actors are there? 2000? 5000? Lets say 10,000 in total. There are probably 10,000 asian doctors or 10,000 asian lawyers. In fact I will do you one better...I bet you there are more BLACK doctors than there are BLACK actors/athletes/musician. Aspiring to be an athlete/actor/musician is a terrible way to go about being successful.

Education is always the best and easily the easiest way to be successful.

The threadstarter is a retard. Lets take your average Asian kid and drop them off at 1 years of age into any ghetto usa and lets see how hard he studies, when he is faced with all that adversity.

Their education system runs laps around the American education system for starters. Two very different cultures. Their teaching methods focus on hands on dealing with real material objects in their mathematic studies and use word problems vs numbers, they also have interaction with the students through discussion vs writing out the days lesson on the chalkboard, and leaving the students to do the work themselves, and thats just the basics. But your question was not posed correctly. to make the sole emphasis on Blacks, instead of Americans vs Asians, just shows your ignorance and true intentions/underlying motive, which appears to just cast Blacks in a negative light.

Says the media..... But fact still stands, White people in the US had a head start with money and education. The fact that they're a few of us who have reached the upper class says a lot in itself.

.... The fact that they're some of us who have more money (aka upper-middle class) than our white counterparts says a lot. People need to stop complaining and give it time.

You missed the part where I said, "We either go to school, the same way Asians do..."

I was pointing out that they're plenty of upper class brothas out there, and as time passes those successful brothas will start their own empire through their kids, and the cycle will continue... Meaning when we're not going to school and getting our degree, we're becoming successful entertainers.

...And then I just pointed out that they're way more Black entertainers than Asian entertainers, proving that even when we can't become successful through the default education platform, we find other ways... and us as black people, do this better than any other race.

So you're saying something else? That Blacks in the United States don't have relatively high rates of hunger/food insecurity and poverty? And that the fact that a minority of Blacks in the US is doing well means Blacks as a whole are?

Surely that's not what you're suggesting?

Something is wrong with you if you think that sports and entertainment can offer as many avenues for success for as many people as fields that require formal education -- even if success is measured in monetary terms.

And blacks will never be fully respected as long as we continue to fail as a group at fields that require high intelligence.

You can't be serious promoting sports and entertainment over medicine. Is this some kind of joke?

See post #31. I'm not denying that blacks lack equal opportunity. But adversity is compatible with a deep hunger for education.

And even blacks with upper income parents lag behind their poor Asian and white peers.
