Why do you make threads like this but not make threads about the various inequality that took place in the past that led up to this? Lol fucking bullshit, it seems you have no good grasp on history. Also how do you quantify achievements, whi is the Nobel peace prize seen as the be all and end all of achievement. I can name alot of great people who never manage to win such accolades yet that doesn't make their achievement any less, also when talking about black achievement how far back are you willing to go, because obviously as Black people there have been certain restrictions on us mentally and physically since we were transported to the Diaspora.

I'm glad you posted this because it gives me an opportunity for clarification. I'm not saying that blacks have lower achievement despite having equal opportunity; I don't believe blacks have equal opportunity. Still, I get annoying when these low-standard-having and ignorant people question whether blacks are actually behind other races in terms of achievement.

But let's get back to the point of the thread: given the achievement gap, which we admittedly probably can't completely close by studying more, why are there other groups that have a reputation for studying more than we do?

You don't get it. Blacks lag behind other races in terms of achievement. Nobody has more catching up to do, and yet you're finding excuses for why we shouldn't be out-studying all other races.

And Africans from the continent out perform most Americans, be it white black or yellow. I think the problem lies in the fact that Black Americans over the years have been so embedded into the values of white American culture, Asians and Africans from the continent while may integrate and pick up European-American values, still hold the values of their individual cultures in high regard.

Life isn't about what the government deems as educationally sound. I agree Knowledge is Power, but at the same time, while these Asian guys are going to school for multiple years trying to be a doctor, us Black people are either doing the same thing, or making millions through sports and entertainment.

How many Asian actors are there? Professional sports? Comedians? Talk show hosts? No matter how much they try to hold us down, we always find a way to come out on top.

....So when it's all said and done, it's about what you label as success. If money equals success (which is does for most people), then NBA player, NFL player, Actor, Emcee, Successful Comedian > Doctor.... Stop thinking everyone has to follow some default template on how to be successful.
