Why Did PAC Beef With NAS and JAY?

What, Plenty of rappers sold without controversy. Pac lived a controversal life so yes that media attention, good or bad helped his sales. I mean he was locked up when his album debut at #1 over Bruce Springsteen. There have been artist that moved units without controversy.

pac was making good music Me Against the World was a great album and did 2 mill...

however Pac's earlier music was not better than his later music..firstly his flow completely changed, his voice changed, his content changed, his beats changed...he grew as an artist...he found his style

2pacalypse and SFMN are great albums, with some great songs, but they arent has good as Me Against the World, AEOM and Makaveli

they sound more dated, his flow was different, but they had some stand out tracks e.g Brendas got a baby and keepy ya head up and round and round....

he could have signed with anyone, his record would have gone wood if it was wack....whats wrong with working with better producers?

he put himself in a position where he could get a better deal....

Pac signed with Deathrow, made a great album, worked with some great producers, had a bigger budget and sold 5 mil....thats music for you, thats how it works

Jay Z, NaS, Fuguees, what controversy did they have during their successful albums like "The Score, It Was Written and Hard Knock Life"? Pac did make the bluprint for selling off "BEEF" cough, 50 Cent, cough, but most rappers don't need to do that to sell believe it or not.

Believe it or not in 1996, the only NYC dudes moving units at that point was Biggie (Multi-Platnum) and Methodman (Platinum). NaS would drop that summer and become the 3rd but Jay going Gold was the norm for New York artist at that time. Yes he had Biggie and Mary J and that probably helped him go Gold. But his singles "Dead Presidents/Ain't No Nigga" went Gold also. So he had a Gold LP and Gold Single out the gate, that's not to shabby considered NYC artist were flopping left and right.
