False, "Life After Death" was 100% completely before Biggie's death. It's release date "March 25 1997" did not change and was the original release date. He was in LA on a promo radio tour for the album at the time of his death. He already shot the "Hypnotize" Video. This wasn't a Big Pun "Yeah Baby" cut and paste situation. Biggie completed "LAD" and Pac completed "Makaveli" before both stop breathing. This is why most people considered LAD, AEOM and M classics cause they were the offical last recordings of Biggie and Pac before they died.

dog read the making of LAD in XXL they clearly mention the album was being worked on after BIGS Death...some songs were unfinished,

correct me if im wrong but didn't Dre just produce one song for Pac? "california love"
2. T.I., DMX, Game, 50, Wayne(still in jail) and more others came out after jail but some still didn't sell well.
Deathrow was the biggest but Bad boy wasn't far behind.
So did BIG rep his coast

That "one" song Dre produced happened to be the most successful on the album. Your jail comparison is laughable since every rapper you named is a multi-platinum entity. Big reps his coast, but I also stated that his sales were inflated as well. The nigga went from 4x platinum to diamond. Yes, death surely helped him too....

False, I have the magazine. Of course they had to master it before release but Biggie died March 9, the album was released 15 days later. I don't know if you know how the record process works but there wasn't much changed in 2 weeks, let be serious. The album had to get pressed and shipped out to retailers which takes weeks. It was mostly "No Way Out" that was being worked out post Big's death.

GOOD MUSIC will help you shift records...AEOM is considered by many as Pacs best album. Pac put together a great record.

He sold 5 mil because the album was that damn good

Whatever excuse you use to why Pac sold 5 mil is void, arguments can be brought up for any rappers sales, from Jayz, Em, Snoop, whoever else...

Pacs life was part and parcel to his music....

There was no blueprint at the time on how u shift 5 mil records, rappers made music, pacs just happened to make better music which was felt by more people...its as simple as that

So, Pac wasn't making GOOD MUSIC before he got out of jail, signed to the biggest label with the biggest producer and repped a whole coast in the biggest "battle" ever? Because he wasn't even selling 5 mil total, let along in three months, during that time. Are we making excuses???

controversy sells, Jayz had done it his whole career to shift records and is still doing it

as does kanye

as does Em

why is a problem when Pac did it? Pac just happened to do it better and have more fans than Jay....

Pac sold 5 mil in 3 months, first for a hood rapper, he set the bar, he opened the door for all that came after him....History cant be changed, stupid excuses will not make up for the masterpiece that is AEOM selling 5 mil.

Jay cant turn back time and sell Pac numbers...Pac was one of a kind...

I laugh at that when fans say "Dre only did 1 Pac song" which was the BIGGEST HIT of his career. And the 1st song of his to ever hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. LOL. Dre knocked that shit out the park with "California Love".

So your telling me AEOM was not a classic album that one song named california love overshadowed all of songs on the album?

Riiigiht.....

I named the multi-platinum artists to show you on what they did HOWEVER 2pac went to jail for a crime he didn't commit. Thats different.

nigga if eminem happen to die right now his recovery album sales would increase

if jay died his blueprint 3 sales would increase

whats your point?

Pac was alive when he sold 5 million in 2 months which is true. His time on Deathrow were only 9 months anyway

That's all I wanted to hear. Pac wasn't no black Jesus resurrecting in audio form. Controversy and death helped his sales DRAMATICALLY. He was 50 before 50.

Are you paying attention? I mentioned California Love being the MOST SUCCESSFUL song because of it's billboard spots. A crime he didn't commit? O, so you was there? Was you also present when OJ "didn't" dice those two devils? Bottom line, controvery was tupacs biggest ally.

True, but you know what? No other rapper has die hard fans that act as if said rapper was floating on clouds. I respect Pac's brilliant mind, but his sales are extremely inflated. That's all I'm saying...

Of course. Statistic's show that about 20-25% of the prison population includes or included innocent men. Tupac, however, wasn't one of them...

His homies was there, the evidence was there, his managers were there, and even the girl.
You said one of the reasons pac sold high on aeom was because on one song california love.... your not even paying attention to yourself.
Niqqa lmao when did i mention OJ in this thread? Controversy is every rappers ally depending on how you use it...

What, Plenty of rappers sold without controversy. Pac lived a controversal life so yes that media attention, good or bad helped his sales. I mean he was locked up when his album debut at #1 over Bruce Springsteen. There have been artist that moved units without controversy.
