Furthermore, T.I. responding to Shawty Lo based on a dare would be like Jay Z responding to The Game. The lesser known artist uses the diss to further promote themselves. It's counter productive b/c T.I. had nothing to gain from it, but Shawty Lo stood to gain a little more fame from it.

When T.I. responded to Flip, it was necessary b/c Flip had did a show in the A while T.I. was locked up and dissed T.I. That is what set off the whole "99 Problems" diss and T.I. holding up that Leprechaun album cover at Birthday Bash back in '04.
