Because NY hold hiphop to a higher standard than other regions which is clearly true from what is accepted down here in the south and this is coming from a southern nigga. NY has never been scared to called something wack, especially it's own. The south and other regions will embrace some wack shit (Soulja Boy, Ying Yang, New Boyz,etc) all because their region is winning, other regions have no standard. A nigga like Gucci would never be embraced if he was from NY!

And this was my only point. People are getting mad cause NYC are entitled or elitist. But the fact is NYC always checks itself, rappers have it hard in New York. If you are really wack, forget it. NYC eats it's own. The South let's anyone and everyone make music when there are serveral cases where some of those rappers should of never picked up a mic. Again as I've said, I got love for the South and they did get a raw deal in Hip Hop History.

But they continue to let weak or wack artist shine and that's why NYC has been even more critical of the south now than ever before. Now obviously NYC right now is not where it was during the Dynasties of the 80's and 90's. But we still have certain artist that are shinning. Jay Z album sold more than any Southern Artist album last year. NYC will always have that powerhouse Emcee that stays near the top of every year.
