But we in the south notice it so much more coming from northerners towards us. Like they feel this need to tell us how wack they think our whole way of life is. And a lot of times, they form this opinion without really even knowing what they're talkin about. They just pick a few artists they hear on the radio, or see on t.v., and think that's the best the south has to offer. No, that's just the niggas who made it, for whatever reason. And even then, they can't seem to understand that those mainstream artists still make catchy relatable songs, however lyrically deficient they may be. Just cause you don't get it, doesn't mean my taste is bad, or I'm slow, or that you're superior to me. It just means you don't get it. If you don't wanna get it, cool. But just let that be that, don't try to tell me I'm wrong, or my region is talentless.

Yeah, see that, I completely agree with. Growin up in South Carolina, all I used to listen to was southern shit and more popular western shit like Too Short, Snoop, Bone Thugs(even though they midwest). New York music was everywhere, and a strong influence on the industry, but I couldn't really get into it like that, except for the usual Jay-Z, Nas, etc. But as I grew up, and learned that there was more out here than that, I started listening to everything and tryna understand why a nigga would like Big L, or who the fuck Slum Village is, etc. And I completely appreciate the history of the culture and the O.G.'s from the Golden Era. I had to go back and do my homework though, cause I wasn't around to witness that shit. So with that said, I'm never gonna just blatantly say everything from NY is wack, so I hate when niggas come down here and get disrespectful simply cause they don't understand why we bump rappers like Trick Daddy, Young Dro, Yo Gotti, Playaz Circle, B.G., Field Mob, etc.

NYC has the most diversity in one place than anywhere in the U.S. I can get on a train and the whole joint looks like the united nations. Queens is the most diverse place in America as far as the most cultures in one place. NYC you can walk down the street and hear tons of different languages. Yes Cali has a strong Latino population but so does NYC. We have it all here. I've lived in the South and it's still to much "Black/White" issues even now after all these years. I've been out West also. Never really been to the midwest.

The bottom line some of you can call NYC haters or whatever but without New York, Hip Hop wouldn't be where it is today on a global scale. NYC has it's wack rappers just like anyone else, but NYC's best rappers and groups pretty much outshine ever region in Hip Hop History. So again, don't be mad and upset NYC has high standards of Hip Hop. The creators of the genre should have high standards. I'm not a South Hater, I was born in the south and think they got the rawest deal out of any region, but the level of trash Hip Hop coming out of the South surpasses any region and most of the time my southern brothers get defensive and defend that mess instead of calling it out. I co-sign this post..and I'm from the South. I have a high standard when it comes to Hip Hop myself. That's what wrong with the peeps down here..afraid to call out trash knowing that's exactly what it is.
